Bali is renowned for its breathtaking scenery, and this generally comes with a fantastic bonus: the sunset. Bali is home to some of Indonesia's most beautiful sunset locations, from powder-white beaches and towering clifftops to historic sea temples and posh beach clubs. However, deciding where to watch the sunset in Bali might be challenging because there are so many lovely locations to select from. Read on to find out where you should head to at dusk in Bali.

1. Uluwatu Temple

Source

The magnificent Pura Luhur Uluwatu is an obvious choice to lead off a list of the top places to watch the sunset in Bali. One of Bali's six important temples and among the most stunning structures on the island is this well-known Indonesian monument. Uluwatu, which dates to the eleventh century, is not just Bali's oldest or largest temple but an extraordinary environment best suited for spiritual people. Uluwatu Temple, perched on a 70-meter-high clifftop, provides expansive views of the Indian Ocean and the pounding surf below.

Watching the sun disappear over the horizon at dusk is one of the most beautiful moments to capture. Be sure to go around the cliff, where you'll discover several varied viewpoints, each as beautiful yet offering something distinct. Don't miss seeing a thrilling Kecak fire dance performance after wandering around. It's among Bali's top things to do! Please arrive at least a few minutes before the show's start time of P.M. This will allow you to explore this magnificent sea temple before it becomes fully dark.

2. Tegalalang Rice Terrace

Source

The steep area north of Ubud is home to the Tegalalang Rice Terrace. Farmers long ago discovered a method to transform this difficult topography, which is 200 meters above sea level, into something that can help them grow food even now. That solution is the lovely terracing of the hills. The ever-pleasant 24°C highland weather and the abundant greenery paired with the stunning afternoon sky make visiting during different months amazing! This UNESCO World Heritage is best enjoyed between March and April and between September and October. Ripe paddy fields lend a coating of gold to the environment during these particular months of the harvest season, making for a great photo opportunity.

3. La Plancha, Seminyak

Source

La Plancha is the best spot to see a breathtaking Bali sunset! One of Seminyak's trendiest hangouts is the Spanish beach bar La Plancha. La Plancha is a spot where you can even celebrate your birthday and is most renowned for its relaxed bohemian ambience, vibrant beanbags, and traditional Balinese parasols buried in the sand. La Plancha is a relaxed location that is ideal for taking in the changing sky as the sun sets. It begins filling up a few hours before the sky begins to change. Avoid arriving too late so you can secure the greatest beachside location!

4. Kedai D’Sawah

Although the view from this modest restaurant might not be as impressive as Tegalalang, you'll still enjoy a respectable vista of millions of rice plants dispersed across a vast spreading horizon. It's breathtaking to see the sunset behind a landscape filled with trees, bushes, and a few little red-tiled buildings. Sawah is the traditional rice field, and Kedai D'Sawah is a brilliant wordplay meaning house in the fields. Kedai means "hut or lodge." The name is not a lie: while surrounded by lush (or golden) fields, you may enjoy budget-friendly Asian, Indonesian, and vegetarian cuisine. Utilizing your preferred mode of transportation, don't miss this eatery that is 2 minutes to the west of Goa Gajah. Enjoy this moment of golden hour!

5. Tanah Lot Temple

Source

This revered Hindu temple is perched directly atop a coral rock that protrudes out of the water. Therefore, it is not strange that it is also dedicated to Baruna, the sea deity. However, the scene that many of us die to see is the magical flow of high tide which makes the temple appear to be in the ocean. Whatever time of day you arrive, the landscape is truly breathtaking. But after dusk, everything becomes far more poignant, and you can even sign up for a sunset tour to ensure front-row seats!

6. Campuhan Ridge

Source

The Campuhan Ridge is a curvy road that crosses a hill surrounded by lowlands with trees, streams, and homes. The slab-paved road is popular with hikers and joggers in the morning and afternoon, and motorbikes occasionally use it to transport agricultural produce. Since tall trees rarely grow along roads, you may angle your camera at the setting sun from any location. In any case, for the time being, it makes a great historical point about Ubud's uneven landscape, which is always so lush and dominated by trees. In certain areas, you may see rice fields, and in the distance, the sun will set behind stands of coconut palms.

Along the walk, there is a tonne of cafés and warungs. However, the best-kept secret is a little place called PUKAKO Panini & Coffee. Although it is a simple café, the ambience is fantastic, and it's an excellent location to relax among rice fields, get some food, and watch the sun go down. Also, stop by Karsa Kafe if you have time and wish to hike the entire Campuhan route. Even better views may be found here! And you may unwind for hours in one of the adorable cottages with a view of the lotus pond!

7. Suarga Padang Padang

Source

When you enter the opulent Suarga Padang Padang hotel, you will be astounded by the view of the Padang Padang Beach sunset it offers. An outdoor restaurant and bar with views of the beach and surfers catching waves are located at the eco-friendly boutique hotel. As you watch the sunset over the water, ambient music is the ideal accompaniment. Southern Bukit Peninsula is home to Suarga Padang Padang. It takes only approximately 10 minutes to get there from Uluwatu and 25 minutes to get there from Jimbaran. It's a nice spot to visit after a day of sunbathing because it's right adjacent to Padang Padang Beach.

8. Sunset Point, Amed

Source

There is no better spot to be in Amed than the appropriately called Sunset Point when the sun starts to set, heralding the end of yet another day in paradise. Sunset Point naturally draws visitors and sunset chasers with laid-back, unpretentious feelings, much like anyplace else in peaceful Amed. On Amed's highest point, Sunset Point is essentially a warung. Bring scrumptious food and cool beverages to enjoy another beautiful day at one of the few tables dotted around the little bluff overlooking Jemeluk Beach below. Amed faces east, so you won't be able to witness the fireball fall into the water. That little period when the sky is aflame in 150 different colours of orange is sheer enchantment. Everyone is comfortable and joyful as they bask in the final golden rays of delight.

9. Sidemen

Source

One of Bali's most stunning locations to see the sunset is Sidemen. The charming locals, nearby rice terraces, and breathtaking Mount Agung are all highlights of Sidemen Village. Sidemen are the spot to go if you want peace to watch the sunset over Mount Agung. Unfortunately, there is no public transit in the little town of Sidemen, which lies on Bali's east side. So the best way to get there is by taxi. Even though Sidemen is a quiet, localized area of Bali, there are still lots of exciting things to do there. There are various things to enjoy here, so make sure that you stay for at least two days.

10. Potato Head Beach Club, Seminyak

Source

Most of Bali's southern shoreline districts provide breathtaking sunsets that last far into the night. Potato Head is one of the hippest places to hang out in Seminyak; it's a groovy beach club with amazing views, a great pool, delectable cuisine, and many Instagram-worthy photo locations. For a less resort-like experience, relax in one of the two infinity pools or stroll along the beach. But with communal lounging areas, dining options, private cabanas, and hip spots to hang out and watch the lively people from various resort locations.

11. Echo Beach, Canggu

There are several local warungs offering cool Bintang and fresh coconuts along Echo Beach, which has a laid-back vibe. Sit on one of the bright bean bags that are spread along the beach and see elite surfers riding the waves with ease. One of the top surfing locations for experienced surfers is Echo Beach. Between September and April, when the sun sets in a direct line to the beach above the water, is the greatest time to experience sunsets in Canggu. You may walk from Echo Beach to Berawa Beach and return during the hour before sunset if you'd rather spend it being active.

12. Mount Batur

Although the coastline may be the first location that springs to mind when considering Bali's greatest sunset-watching location, Mount Batur, which is situated in the island's heart, is equally as good. With its surrounding tropical jungle and highland volcanic mountains, Mount Batur is a rare natural gem. An active volcano created the caldera, which is a well-liked destination for hikers. In contrast to Mount Kinabalu and other well-known Southeast Asian trekking locations, this hike is relatively simpler for experienced hikers. The ascent to the 1,700-meter top only takes around 2 hours. Join a Volcano Vehicle tour to travel through the lunar-like environment of black lava fields in a 4x4 jeep and reach the peak more quickly.
