Beautiful Parks in Bali

Established in 1959, Bali Botanic Garden, also known as Bogor Botanical Garden, is very popular among locals as well as tourists and is one of the most visited parks in Bali. Spread over 154 hectares, here, you can witness few of the world’s rarest species of plants. Besides witnessing the vast collection of rare tropical plants, you can also have some fun at the ‘Bali Hilltop Adventure Park’, inside the Garden, which has nets, jumpers, Tarzan swings connected across six circuits, from tree to tree.

West Bali National Park houses over 160 different species of birds, including the exotic white Bali Starling. Some of the other species found in this park include the wild bull, Dollarbird, Java sparrow, Sacred Kingfisher, Wild Boar, flying fox and many more. This national park in Bali also shelters a large variety of rare and near-extinct marine creatures. This fabled island in Bali is undoubtedly worth a visit.

A bird lover’s paradise, the Bali Bird Park and Reptile Park are spread over 2 hectares of land in the village of Batubulan. It houses more than 1000 different types of exotic birds and about 250 different species of reptiles. The reptile park houses the famous Komodo dragon, pythons, crocodiles, turtles, frogs and many other odd-looking reptiles!  This park in Bali also has a particular ‘hatching area’, where they try to breed endangered species to preserve their existence.

Bali Butterfly Park is an insect and butterfly conservatory, which houses a wide variety of different unique species of insects and butterflies. Spread over 3000 square meters, this park is the largest insect and butterfly conservatory in Asia. Here you can witness weird looking insects like scorpions and hairy spiders from the other side of the glass. Other than these odd-looking creatures, you can see beautiful specimens of the famous Bali Peacock, the common birdwing and the majestic birdwing.

Bali Safari and Marine Park house more than 400 species of animals from three different regions- India, Indonesia and Africa. From spotted deers to blackbucks, African hippos to blue wildebeests, here, you can witness all the wilderness, up close. They have safari bus facilities to ensure your safety while you enjoy your encounter with the amusing wild creatures. The buses have their guides who will keep you entertained throughout, making it an educational yet fun ride all along.

Kemenuh Butterfly Park is Bali’s second butterfly garden, after the one in Tabanan. It was established in 2016 and houses more than 500 species of butterflies both live as well as extinct ones. The park offers recreational as well as educational tours to guide you throughout the vast landscaped park. Few of the species you can witness in this Park include the Atticus Atlas Moth, Common cruiser and Papilio Peranthus. In different areas of the park, you can also see cocoons as well.

Sacred Monkey Forest (Ubud Monkey Forest) is one of the most famous parks in Ubud, Bali. It is a natural sanctuary which is home to the renowned grey long-tailed macaques.
