Online Visa for Hong Kong - Requirement for an Indian Traveller

Currently, citizens from 170 countries can stay in Hong Kong without a visa for 7 to 180 days. Citizens from Australia, New Zealand, EU, Canada, the US, Japan, and Israel can stay visa-free for up to 90 days, while citizens from countries in South America, Africa and the Middle East can without a visa for up to 30 days. British passport holders are granted a visa-free stay for up to 180 days.

Indians would require a valid pre-arrival registration (PAR) for an online visa for Hong Kong, which would be processed upon arrival. This has been in effect since January 2017; before which, the visa could be obtained upon arrival.

The Pre-Arrival Registration Form

The following are the requirements of the form:
  1. Information regarding the candidate
  2. Their travel plans
  3. The passport needs to have a minimum validity of 6 months.
Once granted, the PAR is:
  • Valid for up to 6 months
  • Permits a stay period of up to 14 days on one trip
  • Can be used for multiple visits.
You can find the form here and henceforth apply for an online visa for Hong Kong: https://application.evisahongkong.com/application
