Countries you can visit with a UK visa

Which countries you can visit on a UK visa depends on the visa you hold, the destination and your route there. Nineteen entries, checked 31 August 2026; rules change, so confirm before booking.

Here is the list of 19 Countries Indians Can Visit on a UK Visa

1. Turkey: easier e-Visa if you hold a UK visa

Turkey: easier e-Visa if you hold a UK visa

Istanbul, Cappadocia and the Aegean coast, and the shortest flight on this list from most Indian cities.

Tier: easier e-Visa, not a waiver. A valid visa or residence permit from the Schengen area, Ireland, the UK or the USA qualifies you for Turkey's conditional e-Visa, single entry, up to 30 days.
The catch: electronic visas and electronic residence permits are not accepted. It has to be a physically issued one.

Checked 31 August 2026. Confirm with Turkey's e-Visa authority and your airline before booking.

2. Serbia: visa waived if you hold a valid UK visa

Serbia: visa waived if you hold a valid UK visa

Tier: visa waived if you hold a valid UK visa. Holders of a valid visa or residence permit from the UK, Ireland, the USA or a Schengen state can enter without a Serbian visa for up to 90 days in any 180 day period, provided that visa stays valid for the whole trip.
Worth knowing: Indian passport holders lost visa free access to Serbia in January 2023, so here the UK visa is doing real work.

Checked 31 August 2026. Confirm with Serbian immigration and your airline before booking.

3. Peru: visa waived if you hold a valid UK visa

Peru: visa waived if you hold a valid UK visa

Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley and the Amazon, and the longest permitted stay on this page.

Tier: visa waived if you hold a valid UK visa. Peru's rule names Indian citizens directly: with a visa or residence permit from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia or the Schengen area you can enter for tourism or business for up to 180 days.
Condition: the UK visa must be valid for at least six months from the day you land in Peru. That is the visa, not the passport.

Checked 31 August 2026. Confirm with Peruvian immigration and your airline before booking.

4. Albania: visa waived if you hold a valid UK visa

Albania: visa waived if you hold a valid UK visa

Tier: visa waived if you hold a valid UK visa. Up to 90 days with a valid visa or residence permit from the UK, Ireland, Cyprus, the USA or a Schengen state.
Two conditions, both strict: the visa has to be multiple entry, and you must have already used it at least once. A single entry UK visa will not get you in, and neither will one you have never travelled on.

Checked 31 August 2026. Confirm with Albanian immigration and your airline before booking.

5. Aruba: visa waived on a multiple entry UK visa

Aruba: visa waived on a multiple entry UK visa

Tier: visa waived if you hold a multiple entry UK visa. Aruba runs two separate routes and they are not interchangeable.
On a visa: a valid multiple entry visa for the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States or Canada removes the need for an Aruban visa. A single entry UK visa does not qualify.
On a residence permit: a valid temporary or permanent residence permit for the UK, Ireland, the United States, Canada, the Schengen Territory or another part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands works on its own, with no multiple entry condition. Schengen belongs to this route only, not to the visa route.
Visitors are admitted for up to 30 days, extendable to 90 days in total on request. Carry the original document, not a photocopy.

Checked 4 September 2026 against the Aruba Tourism Authority immigration regulations. Confirm with Aruban immigration and your airline before booking.

6. Dominican Republic: visa waived on a multiple entry UK visa

Dominican Republic: visa waived on a multiple entry UK visa

Tier: visa waived if you hold a multiple entry UK visa. Under Decreto 691-07 you may enter without a Dominican visa if you hold a valid multiple entry visa for Great Britain, the United States, Canada or the Schengen area, or permanent residence in one of them. A single entry UK visa does not qualify.
What we could not verify: how long you are allowed to stay on this route, and whether a tourist fee applies on arrival. We have left both out rather than guess, so ask your airline at check in and budget for a small entry charge.

Checked 4 September 2026 against the Dominican Ministry of Foreign Relations visa service. Confirm with Dominican immigration and your airline before booking.

7. Bahamas: visa on arrival for UK visa holders

Bahamas: visa on arrival for UK visa holders

Known For : Grand Bahamas Paradise Island Bimini Island

Tier: visa on arrival, so you still get processed at the border. The rule names Indian citizens directly: with a visa issued by the UK, USA, Canada or any Schengen state you can obtain a visa on arrival for up to 90 days.
This is not a waiver. Allow time at immigration and carry your return ticket and accommodation booking.
Fee: we could not verify the current amount and will not invent one.

Checked 31 August 2026. Confirm with Bahamian immigration and your airline before booking.

Best Time: Anytime except the month of September

8. Turks and Caicos Islands: visa waived if you hold a valid UK visa

Turks and Caicos Islands: visa waived if you hold a valid UK visa

Tier: visa waived if you hold a valid UK visa. A valid UK visa or UK residence permit removes the need for a Turks and Caicos visa, for up to 90 days. A US or Canadian visa or permit works too.
This is the first of six British Overseas Territories on the list. Each sets its own immigration rules and none of them is covered by the UK visa itself, which is why the conditions differ from island to island. The FAQs below explain how that works.

Checked 31 August 2026. Confirm with Turks and Caicos immigration and your airline before booking.

9. Cayman Islands: visa waived, but only if you fly in from the UK

Cayman Islands: visa waived, but only if you fly in from the UK

Tier: visa waived if you hold a valid UK visa, with one condition that decides the trip. The rule names Indian nationals directly: a valid UK, US or Canadian visa gets you up to 30 days, only if you arrive directly from the country that issued that visa.
So a UK visa works if you fly to Cayman from the UK. Route through Miami on the same UK visa and the concession does not apply. Check your itinerary before you book the fare, not after.

Checked 31 August 2026. Confirm with Cayman immigration and your airline before booking.

10. Bermuda: entry on a multi re-entry UK visa

Bermuda: entry on a multi re-entry UK visa

Tier: entry on a multi re-entry UK visa. Bermuda asks Indian passport holders for a multi re-entry visa, an MRV, for the United Kingdom, the United States or Canada. A single entry UK visitor visa does not qualify, and neither does a travel authorisation such as a UK ETA or a US ESTA, because those are not visas.
Both the MRV and your passport must be valid for at least 45 days after your stay in Bermuda ends. Arriving without an MRV, or with either document short of those 45 days, means refusal of entry.

Checked 4 September 2026 against the Government of Bermuda Department of Immigration. Confirm with Bermuda immigration and your airline before booking.

11. British Virgin Islands: the UK visa works, but you may not need it

British Virgin Islands: the UK visa works, but you may not need it
4.8 /5 View 22+ photos

Known For : The Baths Rhone Marine Park (Salt Island) Fallen Jerusalem National Park

Tier: visa waived if you hold a valid UK visa. A UK, US or Canadian visa removes the need for a BVI visa, and that visa must still have at least six months of validity before you travel. Stays are normally one month on arrival, extendable on request.
Be aware: some sources also list Indian passport holders as visa exempt for the BVI outright. We could not settle which is right, so check with BVI Immigration and do not buy a UK visa on this basis.

Checked 31 August 2026. Confirm with BVI immigration and your airline before booking.

Best Time: December to April

13 British Virgin Islan Attractions

12. Anguilla: visa waived if you hold a valid UK visa

Anguilla: visa waived if you hold a valid UK visa

Tier: visa waived if you hold a valid UK visa. A valid UK visa or UK residence permit means no Anguilla visa is needed. A US or Canadian visa or permit works the same way.
What we could not verify: how long you are granted at the border on this route. Visa exempt nationalities get three months, but no figure is published for third country visa holders, so we are not stating one.

Checked 31 August 2026. Confirm with Anguilla immigration and your airline before booking.

13. Ireland: only on a UK visa endorsed BIVS

Ireland: only on a UK visa endorsed BIVS

Tier: special arrangement, the British Irish Visa Scheme. Not every UK visa works here. Yours must be physically endorsed BIVS, and you must have already cleared UK immigration before travelling on to Ireland.
You can then stay up to 90 days, or until your UK permission runs out, whichever comes first.
Excluded: transit visas, visas issued for marriage or civil partnership, long term visitor visas, and anyone who entered the UK without a visa.

Checked 31 August 2026. Confirm with Irish immigration and your airline before booking.

14. Philippines: you can already go without a UK visa

Philippines: you can already go without a UK visa

Tier: visa free for Indians anyway. The UK visa only lengthens the stay. Since 8 June 2025 every Indian passport holder gets 14 days visa free for tourism. Hold a valid tourist, business or resident visa from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, Singapore or a Schengen state and that becomes 30 days.
Your passport must be valid six months beyond your stay. Travel advisories currently cover western and central Mindanao and the Sulu archipelago.

Checked 31 August 2026. Confirm with Philippine immigration and your airline before booking.

15. Qatar: reported visa waiver on arrival, not verified

Qatar: reported visa waiver on arrival, not verified

Tier: reported, not verified. Qatar is widely reported to grant Indian passport holders a 30 day visa waiver on arrival, subject to conditions attached to holding a valid visa or residence permit from certain countries.
We could not confirm the condition list or the current fee against a Qatari government source on 31 August 2026, so we are stating neither. Treat this as worth checking, not as something to rely on at the gate.

Confirm with the Qatar Ministry of Interior and your airline before booking.

16. Oman: reported visa on arrival, not verified

Oman: reported visa on arrival, not verified

Tier: reported, not verified. A 14 day visa on arrival is reported for Indian passport holders who hold a valid visa from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan or a Schengen state.
We could not retrieve the complete rule, or the fee that applies on this route, on 31 August 2026. Oman's general visa charges are set in Omani rials and change, so read the current rate off the official portal rather than any listicle.

Confirm with Royal Oman Police visa services and your airline before booking.

17. Taiwan: reported travel authorisation, not verified

Taiwan: reported travel authorisation, not verified

Tier: reported, not verified. India is one of six nationalities eligible for Taiwan's free online Travel Authorization Certificate, which allows repeat visits of up to 14 days each within a 90 day validity. Under the general scheme a qualifying visa may even be expired, provided it expired less than ten years before you arrive.
We could not confirm which countries' visas qualify for Indian applicants, so we cannot tell you a UK visa will do it.

Checked 31 August 2026. Confirm with Taiwan's Bureau of Consular Affairs and your airline before booking.

18. Montenegro: a UK residence permit is clearer than a UK visa

Montenegro: a UK residence permit is clearer than a UK visa

Tier: reported, not verified, and the distinction matters here. Montenegro's published rule is written around holders of a residence permit in the UK, Ireland, the USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, New Zealand or a Schengen state, allowing up to 30 days, or fewer if the permit expires sooner.
Whether an ordinary UK visitor visa qualifies is not clear from the rule as published, and we could not confirm it either way.

Checked 31 August 2026. Confirm with Montenegrin immigration and your airline before booking.

19. North Macedonia: reported arrangement, and it is time limited

North Macedonia: reported arrangement, and it is time limited

Tier: reported, not verified, and dated. The firm rule covers holders of a valid multiple entry Schengen type C visa, or an EU or Schengen residence permit, for up to 15 days. UK, US and Canadian visas are reported as accepted under a temporary arrangement stated to run only until 31 December 2026.
Fifteen days, not thirty, and an arrangement with an end date on it. Check it is still in force in the week you fly.

Checked 31 August 2026. Confirm with North Macedonian immigration and your airline before booking.

A UK visitor visa is expensive and slow to get, so this page is for people who already hold one. It is not a reason to apply for one. We do not print visa fees here: they change often, and a wrong figure costs you more than no figure, so check the fee on each country's own immigration portal on the day you apply. Where an entry is marked reported rather than verified, we could not confirm it against a government source on 31 August 2026. Treat those as leads to check, not as rules.

FAQs on Countries Indians Can Visit on a UK Visa

Which countries can I actually visit with a UK visa on an Indian passport?

On the evidence we could verify on 4 September 2026, a valid UK visa removes the need for a separate visa in Serbia, Peru, Albania, Aruba, the Dominican Republic, the Turks and Caicos Islands, the Cayman Islands, Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands and Anguilla. It gets you a visa on arrival in the Bahamas, and a conditional e-Visa in Turkey. It opens Ireland only if the visa is endorsed BIVS. The Philippines admits Indian passport holders for 14 days with no UK visa at all. Every one of these carries conditions, and the conditions are on the cards above. Gibraltar is the one travellers most often expect to find here, and it is not: its border agency states that a UK visa or UK residence permit does not entitle an Indian passport holder to enter, and that only a Schengen visa or an EU residence permit does. We took several countries off this page that other lists still carry, because we could not verify them.

Does my UK visa need to be currently valid, and does a visa I have already used count?

It almost always has to be currently valid, and several countries want more than that. Peru wants your UK visa valid for at least six months from the day you land. Bermuda wants a multi re-entry visa, with both the visa and your passport valid for at least 45 days after your stay there ends. Albania wants a multiple entry visa that you have already travelled on at least once. Serbia wants it valid for the whole of your stay. An expired UK visa is worth nothing on this list, with one possible exception inside Taiwan's programme that we could not verify for Indian applicants.

Can I use a UK visa to enter the Schengen Area or the rest of Europe?

Not the Schengen Area. The UK is not in Schengen and a UK visa gives you no right of entry to any Schengen country. Some non Schengen European countries are a different matter: Serbia and Albania both waive their own visa for holders of a valid UK visa, on conditions, and Ireland does so under the British Irish Visa Scheme if your visa is endorsed BIVS. Georgia does too, and it is worth saying plainly because this one is widely got wrong in the other direction. Georgia's substitute visa list names the United Kingdom explicitly, separately from the EU, EFTA and Gulf Cooperation Council states, so Brexit did not remove it: a valid UK visa or UK residence permit admits an Indian passport holder for up to 90 days in any 180 day period without a Georgian visa. Without one of those documents you need Georgia's e-visa, which gives 30 days within any 120 day period.

Does a UK BRP or residence permit work instead of a UK visitor visa?

Often it works better than a visitor visa. The Turks and Caicos Islands, Anguilla, Aruba, Albania, Serbia and the Dominican Republic all accept a UK residence permit as readily as a visa. Montenegro's published rule is written around residence permits, and whether an ordinary visitor visa qualifies there is not clear. Turkey is the important exception and runs the other way: it accepts a physically issued UK visa or residence permit, but will not accept an electronic visa or an electronic residence permit.

Why are Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, Turks and Caicos, the BVI and Anguilla on this list?

Because they are British Overseas Territories, which is not the same as being part of the United Kingdom. Each runs its own immigration service and sets its own rules, so a UK visa does not admit you automatically. What they have in common is that most of them treat a valid UK, US or Canadian visa as good enough to skip their own visa. What differs is the fine print, and it differs a lot. The Cayman Islands accept it only if you arrive directly from the country that issued it. Bermuda wants a multi re-entry visa, with the visa and your passport both valid 45 days past the end of your stay. Read the card for the specific island rather than assuming the group behaves the same way. Gibraltar runs the other way and is not on this list at all: it does not accept a UK visa from an Indian passport holder.

What do I show at check-in, and what if the airline still refuses to board me?

Carry your passport with the physical UK visa or residence permit in it, a return or onward ticket, and your accommodation booking. Airlines check these at the gate because they are fined for carrying a passenger who is then refused entry, so the check-in agent will be cautious and their decision stands at the airport. If you expect a discussion, print the relevant rule from the destination's own immigration website and carry it with you. If you are refused boarding anyway, that is a matter between you and the airline rather than the destination, which is why it is worth calling the destination's embassy or consulate in India before you fly, not after.

Is it worth getting a UK visa just to use these concessions?

Honestly, no. A UK visitor visa costs a meaningful amount and takes time and paperwork, and nothing on this page is hard enough to enter on its own to justify that. This page is useful if you already hold a UK visa for another reason, or you are about to travel to the UK and want to add a second country to the trip. If you only want one of these destinations, apply for that country's own visa or e-visa instead. In almost every case it will be cheaper and faster than a UK visa.
