Held every year in the coastal village of Sanur, Bali, The Sanur Village Festival is one of the most colourful Indonesian festivals immersed in irresistible local cuisines, vibrant art and dance performances, rich culture and heritage portrayal. One of the biggest festivals in Bali, the SVF celebrations stretch for five days with various socio-cultural events lined up throughout the tenure of the festival.

When and Where is it Celebrated? - SVF Dates and Venue

Held during summer, The Sanur Village Festival would occur between the 21st and 25th of August 2019 at the Maisonette area of Segara Ayu Beach, Sanur. Free Entry.

Initiated in 2006, the Sanur Development Foundation (YPS) has been assisting the promotion of tourism through local collective efforts. Today, the Sanur Village Festival is hosted by the Yayasan Pembangunan Sanur, Sanur Village Festival (SVF) to promote Sanur as an attractive, beautiful as well as safe travel destination for visitors around the globe. 
The best part of the Sanur Village Festival is that the visitors can participate in dozen more activities such as culinary souks, cultural night programs, fishing competitions, water sports, green environment acts, art performances, cultural debates and Sanur Creative Expo

Theme

Targetted at gravitating tourists and enthusiasts from all over the world, the SVF is now a major Balinese festival. With vibrant celebrations in the 2018 Festival, organisers hint SVF, 2019 to get bigger and better.
Inspired by expanses of Marine Life that plays a pivotal role in the lives of the Balinese, the Sanur Village Festival, 2019 promises to introduce various water sports and adventures.

Events and Activites at the Sanur Village Festival

The festival adds different environmental conservation activities such as beach cleaning sessions, coral planting sessions, and turtle release, in addition to water sports.
The Sanur Village Festival would also include several photography exhibitions, golf tournaments, kite festival, cycling tours and fishing competitions. For children, the SVF would host kite flying contests, body painting and beach games. For families, there would be a fun-run session organised.

1. Take up a  cycling tour, if you wish to explore the best of Sanur Village, taking you through the scenic village, fishing communities, beaches, and the famous Sindhu Market.
2. The SVF is a magnet for art and music lovers. From blues to jazz to pop culture, you could enjoy a variety of musical genres alongside the serenity of the beach.
3. To witness stage performances from close, reach the venue in advance.
4. Do not miss the Food Bazaar if you wish to experience the best Indonesian cuisine. An array of five-star restaurants would host a collection of international cuisines too.
5. Begin your morning with a beach yoga session if you are a yoga enthusiast. Mass Yoga Workshops are held every year for visitors. You could be a part of the SVF environment events by planting a tree, cleaning the beach, or by involving in several other eco-friendly activities hosted by SVF.

How to Reach Sanur Village

Reaching Sanur is quite safe, easy, and possible through private or public modes of transport. Board the Trans Sarbagita bus that would pass through the Ngurah Rai Bypass. The closest shelter to reach the Matahari Terbit Beach is the Matahari Terbit Shelter 2, with a one-way payment of IDR 3500. If you are using private commute; follow the Ngurah Rai Bypass road starting from the north side of the city. You could also rent a scooter and reach the venue of the Sanur Village Festival in the best and cheapest mode. Scooter renting would cost around IDR 65000 per day
