7 Party Streets in Bangkok for a Fun Night

Bangkok is one of the Thai cities with the most active nightlife. The city comes to life with music, laughter, and people, and most of the action happens on the streets. So aside from the popular nightclubs to find around, you must also know some of the best streets. Party streets are usually the most known areas with lively bars and clubs till the early morning hours. You can find more travelers and locals enjoying drinks, music, and company there.

1. Khao San Road

Khao San Road is undoubtedly one of the best streets for partying in Bangkok. The street attracts backpackers and travelers to the city for a fun night. It is most loved as it is incredibly diverse and inclusive in all ways. It has some of the most affordable stays, food, and drinks. So even if you are traveling on a budget, you can enjoy yourself with no bounds. You can always hear live music and see many people enjoying themselves in the stores or even on the streets. It is most suitable for younger travelers and party-goers.
How To Reach: Getting to Khao San Road is pretty straightforward if you go by boat, and affordable too. You can get on any boat on the Chao Praya River heading north to get off at the Phra Arthit Pier. From there, the road is a 5-minute walk. You could also take the BTS but it does not reach too close to Khao San Road. You would have to use a Tuk-Tuk or taxi to get from the station to the road. However, it is pricey and the traffic makes it undesirable too.

Highlights: The streets are jam-packed with bars and places to eat, so you can pretty much walk into any shop you find interesting. Street vendor food would undoubtedly be the more affordable option. And you can find alcohol in Khao San for incredibly low prices. Places like The Club are the most renowned spots you can visit. If you are looking for a more relaxed vibe, you can go to the Brick Bar for live music. But it is best to hop from place to place to find your perfect match.

2. Ekkamai

Ekkamai is one of the top high-end locations in Bangkok, catering to the top-notch crowd. The area is home to many rich people like celebrities, businesspeople, and so on. So, the crowd you will find here is extremely posh. So, you can only imagine how wild and exciting the parties are in this area. The most notable locations are the bars and clubs, much like its neighboring street Thonglor. However, the price range of things is more diverse here. While you can find some expensive locations, you can also get moderately priced drinks and enjoyment.
How To Reach: If you are near a bust stop in Bangkok, the best and perhaps most affordable mode of transportation is that only. The Ekkamai area has a huge bus station, and most buses in the city have it as a stop. But if you look for the most efficient way, it has to be the BTS train. The Ekkamai area thankfully also has a BTS station, so if you have a BTS station near your accommodation, definitely choose this method.

Highlights: The Ekkamai Beer House is worth visiting as it offers some of the finest crafted beers and food. But it is more of a relaxed vibe where you can order good food and drinks to relax than a partying vibe. Other locations include the 75 Fusion Izakaya Bar which is also a cocktail bar. But as you walk across the streets you are sure to come across multiple interesting places ideal for exploring.

3. Si Lom

The Si Lom area is another top pick to enjoy the adult nightlife scene in Bangkok. The streets that look pretty calm during the day become the party's heart, with the stalls set up at night. The best part about this street is that it caters to multiple different audiences. The street is ideal for men and women and especially LGBTQ+ people. It is one of the hotspots for these communities, and you can find a warm and fun atmosphere here. It is a laid-back location- so you do not have to worry about spending too much on enjoyment.
How To Reach: The Silom bus station is again the cheapest way to go as the tickets are not too pricey. Since the Silom area has a bus stand, you can walk to the street once out of the station. The metro is also not too far, so it is a good option if your priority is time. The closest station is Surasak, from where you have a short walk to the bustling streets of Silom.

Highlights:
In Si Lom, the DJ Station is arguably the most visited location. It is a club popular with the youngsters that frequent the street. It provides music and drinks, but the vibe is much more relaxed and calmer than most other locations.
But there are other bars and clubs like Nineteens Up Bar, Revolucion Cocktail, etc. Each place has a different vibe, so you must go with the place that fits your expectations the most. Otherwise, you could turn to the Patpong Night Market for more affordable yet enjoyable options.

4. Royal City Avenue

Sometimes also called RCA, Royal City Avenue goes head-to-head against Khao San Road. The only difference- RCA is the fancier alternative for young clubbers. Though it isn't a super posh area per se, it is still pretty high-end and offers generous but friendly crowds. And the street is so loved that it is busy all night. Even the streets are livened up by the music, and you can visit clubs, bars, restaurants, and more. However, they can get pretty pricey, especially for foreigners, for some reason. So, if you're not worried about spending too much, you can visit it.
How To Reach: Much like other places on the list, the fastest way to reach most locations in Bangkok is through the MRT or BTS trains. You can get off at the Pharam 9 station of the MRT system. From there you only have to take a brief taxi ride which no all that expensive. The RCA bus stop is also nearby to most popular spots on the streets. So, you can locate the nearest bus station from your accommodation to get here by bus. Though it may consume more time, it would be much cheaper than the MRT.

Highlights: RCA offers the best and most appreciated clubs in town, like the Route 66 Club. It is arguably the most popular club in Bangkok filled with people. And the rush gets unimaginable during weekends. However, if you manage to find a place, it is where the party is. Even if you don't find a spot, you can check out other clubs like Onyx Bangkok. But if you like to enjoy music with a calmer vibe, you could go for the Old Leng Bar.

5. Thonglor

Among some of the most high-end yet famous places, Thonglor would rank in the top three positions. If you have a higher budget and want to go to fancier places, Thonglor would be the one (aside from Ekkamai.) The area is frequented more by locals than tourists. However, you must dress up to hang out in Thonglor as the crowd is less laid back. The nightlife includes some of the best drinks, high-quality dishes, and people. You can even pass by famous people and conglomerates if you're lucky. You can find many bars, clubs, and dining options on the street.
How To Reach: Thonglor is most easily and affordably accessible through the bus station at a convenient distance. Once you get to the Thonglor bus station from your location, you can easily walk to the hottest places there. But you can also ride the BTS to the Thong Lo station if you want to reach it faster. Though slightly more expensive, it will get you to your destination in no time.

Highlights: Most of the spots to visit in Thonglor get pretty pricey. But for the price, you would also get a better crowd in the clubs and the streets. You would notice mostly younger people with a good mix of locals and tourists. If you prefer funky dance betas, you could visit Do Not Disturb. Otherwise, you can check out other options for music and drinks in the area. From live performances to dancing- you can find a little bit of everything here.

6. Sukhumvit Soi 11

The Soi 11 region is also a high-end place but has a different vibe from Ekkamai and Thonglor. While the other two are pretty intense and bustling with people and music. Soi 11 is calmer. It has a cooler air to it, with a laid-back vibe even though it is very fancy. If we were to summarize, we could call it an Instagrammer's dream. You can enjoy some of the most delicious drinks from a rooftop bar while admiring the view of the city. It is a surreal experience unique to this place as it is the hotspot for aesthetically pleasing places.
How To Reach: Being a high-end area, all the modes of transportation available here are also pretty pricey. Every nearby bus station or metro station is at least 20 minutes from the location. So, you can directly take a taxi from your location. But if you still want to save some money, you can get to the Klong Chet Khanat Community ferry station or Onnut bus station. But you would have to take a taxi to reach the street finally.

Highlights: Recommendations for perfect locations in this area are endless, but we can tell you some to start with. The Above Eleven bar is on a rooftop and offers some of the most stunning views of the Bangkok skyline. Other places include the Levels Club, which is more of a happening location with music and drinks. Although the vibe here is chill, you should get slightly dressed up (comfortably) to ensure you get mixed up with the crowd well.

7. Siam

If you are visiting with family or want a slightly toned-down location to enjoy your night, you could opt for Siam. Though it is still a nightlife hotspot, it is not nearly as flashy as the others mentioned. The laid-back vibe is evident- so you can enjoy local music and theatre shows here. The area has everything from chill bars to rooftop restaurants- it caters to most people. It is in the city's shopping district, so it makes sense to be as popular, especially with tourists.
How To Reach: The Siam region also has a metro station dedicated only to it. So, if you want to reach your destination quickly, it is the way to go. You can get off at the Siam station and walk from there to your destination. The Siam Center bus station is also about a similar distance from the streets of Siam. For people wishing to take the economical route- a bus is the most efficient.

Highlights: If you wish to drink and enjoy, you can look for bars. These locations offer drinks and soft music in a great ambiance, perfect to enjoy a calm but active night out. But if you want the best experience, you should try out places like the Zest Bar and Terrace. The bar offers a stunning view of the Bangkok building lit up at night while you eat and drink delicious cuisine.
Bangkok’s nightlife is no unknown feat to people who have not even visited the city. The capital of Thailand is famous for catering to its tourist and local population with an active nightlife. And unlike other regions, the parties begin right from the streets here.
While a sophisticated bar and lounge are available, you can enjoy the local bars and temp carts. So, the next time you visit the city, check out one of the locations for an enjoyable night out.
