The Jubbarhatti airport in Shimla will operational from next week. The first flight will be flagged off by Mr. Narendra Modi on April 27. The one hour flight will cost Rs. 1920 from Delhi to Shimla and ten tickets will be up for sale at HPTDC Marketing Office, The Mall, Shimla. Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India will be operating between Delhi and Shimla.
Shimla will have air connectivity after almost four and a half years. This project is under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) of Government of India in which unconnected and smaller routes will be connected by air at a nominal rate of Rs. 2,500 and less.
The regular flight will be operated for five days in a week except for Monday and Tuesday. The schedule of flight will be -
Departure from Delhi at 6.10 AM and arrival at Shimla at 7.25 AM.
Departure from Shimla at 7.45 AM and arrival at Delhi at 8.45 AM
The resumption of flights will surely boost up the tourism of the state and is a hopeful symptom for having better connectivity with more places in near future!
