It covers 11 stations, passing through Mathura, Gwalior, Dhaulpur, Raja Ki Mandi, Faridabad, Agra, Morena and Dabra on the way. It covers a total distance of 403 km. Taj Express was introduced in 1964. Running at a speed of 105 km/h, it cut down the travel time from Delhi to Agra to 2 hours and 35 minutes. The train became quite popular among tourists, particularly foreigners, as it offered them sufficient time to visit the Taj Mahal and nearby monuments before returning to Delhi the same evening.

How to Book

A seat in Taj Express can be booked with the Indian Railways official site - IRCTC. The tickets are in high demand in peak times like summer and winter holidays. It is advisable to book the tickets 3 months in advance during such days.

Taj Express Timings

Taj Express starts its journey from New Delhi Railway Station in Delhi at 6:45 in the morning and reaches Agra at 10:00 in the morning.

Non-A/C Seat - INR 160 per person.
