Singapore Cable Car, Singapore Overview

The Singapore Cable Car is a gondola lift that facilitates an aerial link from Mount Faber to Sentosa’s resort island. It affords a bird’s eye view of the main attractions of Singapore like Mount Faber, Harbourfront, Merlion, Sentosa Island and the Universal Studios Singapore.

The Singapore Cable Car is operational from six stations passing through two lines - the Mount Faber Line (old one) and Sentosa Line (new one). The experience is very unique as the gondola lift travels through skyscrapers allowing the passenger to alight at the station for shopping and continue the journey later. The route for the Singapore Cable Car crosses the Keppel harbour which makes it the world’s first aerial ropeway to span over a harbour.

Tips

  • The gondola lifts are not air-conditioned. Hence, they get heated up pretty quickly and easily. One may feel stuffed or suffocated. Keep yourself hydrated before embarking on this journey. Also, do not eat heavy food before getting into the cable car to avoid feeling giddy.
  • Since the cable car gets easily heated up, one tends to sweat a lot in the gondola lift. Make sure to carry sweat wipes.
  • People who are scared of heights should reconsider going in for this cable car experience.
  • One way trip from the cable car takes approximately fifteen minutes.
  • Remember to take the credit card used for booking the tickets online as one has to furnish the same at the time of redemption for verification purposes. The person who books and receives the confirmation voucher must furnish his valid photo ID or passport along with the voucher to redeem the tickets for the Cable Car.
  • All tickets are non-exchangeable and non-refundable including wet weather conditions too. Same goes for lost and damaged tickets too.
  • Try to visit Sentosa during the daytime so that you can exit at night time. This way, you can enjoy the view both during the day and night.
  • No outside food and drinks are permitted inside the premises.
  • Redeem the “Explorer’s Passport” and be a part of some amazing activities, collect ink stamps on your passports at selected cable car stations.
