Sentosa Island, Singapore Overview
A 5km² resort island linked to the mainland by cable car, monorail, and a pedestrian boardwalk, housing most of Singapore's major commercial attractions: Universal Studios Singapore, S.E.A. Aquarium, Adventure Cove Waterpark, iFly indoor skydiving, Wings of Time, and three beach clubs along Siloso, Palawan, and Tanjong beaches. The island is best approached as a full-day destination; buying a Sentosa Fun Pass or bundling multiple attractions reduces cost significantly. Weekdays are considerably less crowded than weekends, especially for Universal Studios and Adventure Cove.
Packed with attractions, the tiny island is speckled with panoramic gardens including a butterfly garden, amusement parks, a breath-taking aquarium (Underwater World), beach clubs with lively music, an ethnic village and the highlight of the island, a vast Merlion Statue.
Singapore's only preserved fort, Fort Siloso, is also located on Sentosa Island. Siloso Beach is for those seeking solace at the beach with volleyball. The place can be easily approached by hired cars, bus, cable car or even Sentosa Express that costs SGD 4.
