What was the turning point where you decided to become a travel influencer?

I have been travelling for a long time. Around 3.3 years ago, I wrote a post about my trip to Italy and I got a really good response to that post. I started writing more regularly and got serious about blogging around 2 years ago.

What do you think is the most important thing young woman solo travellers need to know before exploring places on their own?

Trust your gut. If you feel something is wrong, then listen to it. Don't forget to ask for help when you need it. Most people are not that bad as media portrays them to be.

What is your favourite place in the world and what makes it so special?

I grew up in Tanzania and that is one of my favourite places in the world along with India.

Are most of your travels paid advertisements or do you take trips independently? How do you sustain your travelling lifestyle?

No, I do take a lot of independent trips. I do partner with brands for campaigns in many instances which does help with the travel costs. I also make a good passive income from my blog with affiliate marketing.

As a vegetarian traveller, how do you plan your food options when you travel abroad?

I definitely research a lot when I travel abroad. Due to the rise of Veganism around the world, I have seen that we have more options when it comes to vegetarian food nowadays. Fruits and vegetables are always there around the world to avoid any unforeseen circumstances.

Your Instagram profile seems to be entirely travel-centric. How do you manage to compete with Lifestyle-travel Influencers? Any advice for the aspiring travel influencers?

I really don't feel the need to compete with any other influencer. Everyone has their own unique style and we should definitely stick to the style we are comfortable with. I love posting on Instagram because I like to post pretty pictures. A consistent style definitely helps when it comes to Instagram.

What is the toughest challenge of travelling a lot through the month? Do you miss the stability of staying in one place at any point?

This is one of the reasons I have decided to travel this year. Sometimes it can be exhausting to be on the road for a long time.

And the last question, what does the average day look like for a solo woman traveller?

It is the same as when I am travelling with someone else. I do research a lot on the safety aspects when I am travelling solo.

Let's take it easy for a bit, here's a round of quick questions we've asked Miss. Nambiar so you know your small talk topics when you happen to run into her:
