Bollywood Veggies, Singapore Overview

Bollywood Veggies is an organic farming collective located at Kranji, Singapore. Spread across 10 acres, this farm grows more than 100 different species of plants and is the country’s largest supplier of bananas. This serene, charming farm is the perfect weekend getaway from the bustle of the urban jungle – a great place to unwind in the midst of nature!

This natural farm uses sustainable agricultural practices to create fresh produce free from pesticides and chemicals. Opened in 2000 and named so in a nod to the founder’s Indian heritage, Bollywood Veggies also has a museum, culinary school, and an in-house restaurant at the premises – this gives patrons the opportunity to learn, cook, and eat organic. With seasonal delicacies, farming workshops, welcoming staff and a charming origin story, Bollywood Veggies promises to be a relaxing escape from the city.

There is a whole range of activities, both fun and educational, that visitors to Bollywood Veggies can engage in to make the most of their trip to this wonderful farm.
  • Potting Session: A short potting session teaches kids and adults alike on the simple steps through which one can pot and care for a herb, bringing farming to your living room.
  • Discovery Harvest: A fun little treasure hunt that sends participants around the farm, helping them identify various plants that yield a harvest.
  • Scarecrow Challenge: A team activity that teaches members how to build a scarecrow from materials found at the Bollywood Veggies farm. This includes a fun walk-the-walk and talk-the-talk pageant at the end of it, where everyone can marvel at the unique creations churned out of this challenge.
  • Scrabble Shamble: A little treat for those who were attentive during the guided tour, participants must scramble across the farm in search of letters required to complete words relating to the themes of the challenge.
  • Art with Nature: Through the use of recycled, organic materials found on the Bollywood Veggies farm, participants are tasked with creating beautiful artworks that bring it all together.
  • Terrarium Making: Explore the art of creating mini-gardens within portable containers and bottles during this course, said to be a therapeutic activity for many.
  • Plant the Paddy: Roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty as you plunge into the world of the paddy farmer, learning the nuances of rice farming.
  • Bollywood Kampong Race: Venture across the farm into this all-inclusive race, styled after the popular Amazing Race. Teams will have to perform the various activities of the farm such as the discovery harvest, scarecrow challenge and soon as they race against each other to finish first.
  • Rainbow Salad Making: Expand your creativity by throwing together your favourite fruits and vegetables to make a giant bowl of a good healthy meal.
  • Culinary Challenge: Foster your cooking skills with your teammates as you execute an entire cuisine, made of ingredients retrieved straight from the farm.
  • Culinary Class: Learn the intricacies of being in the kitchen and turning raw ingredients into the simple, delicious edibles that we all love. A range of courses such as healthy cooking, Peranakan cooking and fusion cooking is taught at the Culinary school here, sure to excite and interest all those looking to further their cooking skill.

Bollywood Farm Guided Tour

The Bollywood Farm Tour is the best way to explore Bollywood Veggies. Over a span of 30 minutes, one of the green experts of the farm takes visitors through a journey of the various vegetables, spices, fruits, herbs and medicinal plants that grow on these lands. Participants of the tour have a holistic experience of being able to touch, smell and taste some of these fascinating plants while learning about sustainable and eco-friendly farming. With prior notice, the tours may be customised to follow specific themes of the various plants that populate the area.

Poison Ivy Bistro

A trip to Bollywood Veggies is incomplete without a delicious yet healthy meal at the Poison Ivy Bistro, the in-house restaurant at the farm that features local and fusion cuisine, with some truly mouthwatering dishes like the Fried Vegetables, Bollywings, Pineapple fish, and banana curry. Most of the ingredients are grown at the farm, making the preparations as fresh as it can get. Make sure to try out the banana bread, one of the highlights from the menu, a speciality of this unique farm which houses Singapore’s largest and most varied banana plantation.

How to Reach Bollywood Veggies

Bollywood Veggies is located at 100 Neo Tiew Road, Kranji, Singapore.

MRT: Take the North-South Line and alight at Kranji MRT Station. Take the Kranji Countryside Express Bus from the station to reach Bollywood Veggies.

Taxi: A taxi ride from Singapore Central costs around SGD 30, and takes 50 minutes to reach Bollywood Veggies.

Car: Enter Central Expressway and turn to Ayer Rajah Expressway for 8 kilometres. Exit to Clementi Avenue 6 and turn to Pan Island Expressway for 8 kilometres. Take Exit 36 to Jalan Bahar and continue for 2 kilometres. Turn to Lim Chu Kang Road for 5 kilometres and turn right to Neo Tiew Road. Bollywood Veggies is 2 kilometres down the road.

Shuttle Bus: From Kranji MRT Station, take the Kranji Countryside Express Bus to Bollywood Veggies. A bus ticket costs SGD 3 per head per round trip. A bus ride takes 25 minutes.

Bus service is available at the following times from Kranji MRT:
8:30 AM, 9:30 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 2:30 PM, 4:00 PM, and 5:45 PM.

Bus service is available from Jurong Frog Farm (back to Kranji MRT) at the following times:
9:00 AM, 10:15 AM, 12:15 PM, 1:45 PM, 3:15 PM, 5:05 PM, 6:20 PM
