If there is any place across the globe that can truly be described as a paradise on earth, it has to be one of the vast numbers of stunning beaches that Mauritius proudly boasts of. With long stretches of soft white sand stretching for kilometres and surrounded by crystal clear blue water for as far as the eyes can see, there are very few places on the globe that can be as aesthetically pleasing as the beaches of Mauritius. Choosing the best beach from amongst so many is a task easier said than done, but one beach that will be unanimously voted by tourists and locals alike as being somewhere near the very top is the Trou aux Biches beach or the Plage de Trou Aux Biches.
A Long Walk by the Beach
Trou aux Biches boasts of one of the best beaches in all of Mauritius, and with the vast number of beaches Mauritius has, that's saying something. Located in the northern part of the island, the Trou aux Biches beach is postcard-perfect beach set between the towns of Pointe aux Piments and Mont Choisy. Stretching for over three kilometres, the Trou aux Biches beach is one of the longest beaches in Mauritius, and the powder-soft sand coupled with crystal clean, serene turquoise waters makes this beach immensely aesthetically appealing.
Water Sports and Other Activities
If you're interested in water sports activities, then you'll be pleased to know that you can experience the thrill of a plethora of adventure activities here such as water skiing, snorkelling, scuba diving, parasailing, and going on glass bottom boat rides. Compared to other beaches in Mauritius, the Trou aux Biches beach is relatively much less crowded, even on the weekends, and is mostly frequented by locals of the town. Beach sports activities are also a big thing at this beach, and starting from fishing to beach volleyball, you will almost always find some activity or the other still going on here.
Beaches in Mauritius mostly abound in bits and pieces of coral washing up ashore, but for some reason, the Trou aux Biches beach is completely clear of coral, making it one of the best beaches for swimming. Lining the beachfront are food and beverage stalls, so you can take a quick bite or quench your thirst whenever you feel like it. With plenty of hotels, resorts, restaurants and pubs right beside the coastline, the Trou aux Biches beach is one of the best places to spend an idle afternoon or two lying amidst the soft white sand and basking in the sun with a drink in your hand ? the ideal picture-perfect beach holiday everyone dreams of.

Shared Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport Transfers (MRU) for Mauritius
Being a popular location, getting to the Plage de Trou aux Biches is a straightforward process from all directions of the island. For reference, if you’re in the main airport of the island or around Port Louis, hitching a ride on bus # 20 from Immigration Square which goes past Plaine Verte and Triolet to Trou aux Biches is probably your best option. If you are in Grand Baie, however, going on a 15-minute road trip will let you step out of your car into the beach in all comfort and leisure. The exact entrance to the beach, however, is located to the south of the hotel opposite the new police station and post office, and on the opposite side of the road to Casuarina hotel to the north of Trou aux Biches hotel.
