Much awaited Train 18 of India is likely to begin its commercial run from the capital to Varanasi soon. Stretching for over 800 km from New Delhi to Varanasi, Train 18 will be the very first train to be entirely manufactured in the country under the 'Make in India' initiative.
Train 18 Highlights
SourceWith a maximum speed of 180 km/hr during its test runs, Train 18 is fully ready to cover the 8-hour journey by cutting at least 45 per cent of the initial travel time consumed by the current fastest train in Varanasi. However, the fare has not been finalised, but rumour has it that it may be similar to the Tejas Express running between Mumbai and Goa.
Facilities Onboard
SourceTrain 18 has WiFi, GPS-based passenger information system, LED lighting, mobile charging points, bio vacuum toilet as well as 360-degree revolving seats. It also has an automatic climate control system, making the journey much more comfortable for passengers, regardless of the outer temperature or a fully packed train.
Essential Education The Railway Ministry is also making efforts in educating the masses against throwing stones at the brand new Vande Bharat express which has an extended glass window. There were few damages and scratches on the train to stone-pelting. The Railway Protection Force has even started to sensitize people, also children against throwing stones at the 16-coach train.
