As per the news reports, research conducted by Columbus Direct reveals that Taj Mahal was the most googled landmark across the world in the year 2019. The result has been confirmed from trends observed on Google Keywords Planner, beating popular landmarks such as Statue of Liberty, Machu Picchu, Stonehenge, London Eye etc.

The research conducted shows that Taj Mahal had nearly 14,17,650 searches on a monthly basis globally, leaving Machu Picchu (Mexico) behind at around 12,69,260 monthly searches on google. Burj Khalifa (UAE) secured the 3rd rank with 11,03,950 searches, Niagra Falls (USA-Canada Border) bagged the 4th position with 9,45,810 searches and Eiffel Tower (France) stood at the 5th position with 9,16,270 searches.
In addition, Stonehenge (United Kingdom) was at the 6th position, and Mt. Everest (Nepal) and Statue of Liberty (USA) bagged the 7th and 8th position, respectively. The Vatican City was at the last 50th position of the most googled landmarks.
