2. Berjaya Times Square Theme Park
Malaysia's largest indoor theme park, on the fifth and seventh floors of the Berjaya Times Square mall on Jalan Imbi in Bukit Bintang, so it is the one you can reach on foot from most city hotels. It splits by age: Galaxy Station on the fifth floor holds the thrill rides, including the Supersonic Odyssey coaster, with a minimum age; Fantasy Garden on the seventh is for younger children. 3. District 21, IOI City Mall Putrajaya
Not a ride park at all: 6,500 square metres of indoor obstacle courses, rope circuits, climbing walls, a roller glider and pedal karts, most of it harnessed. It suits older children and adults who would rather do something than queue for something. It is at IOI City Mall in Putrajaya, roughly 30 km south of central Kuala Lumpur, so it is a deliberate trip rather than a stop.
4. Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park
The newest and most ambitious park in the region, opened in February 2022 at Resorts World Genting, about an hour from Kuala Lumpur by road or by the Awana SkyWay cable car. Nine themed lands built around film properties, with genuine roller coasters rather than mall rides. It sits at around 1,800 metres, so it is cool, often inside cloud, and rides do close in lightning. Check the weather before committing the day.

5. Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park, Genting
The indoor park inside First World Plaza at Genting, and the reason a Genting day is not wasted when the weather closes SkyWorlds outside. More than twenty rides across several floors, aimed squarely at families and younger children rather than thrill seekers. Most people who go up to Genting for a day end up in both parks, and the two are a few minutes apart under cover.
6. KidZania Kuala Lumpur
An indoor city built at child scale in Petaling Jaya, where children take on jobs, earn a currency called kidZos and spend or bank it. It works for roughly four to twelve year olds and is closer to a long structured activity than a theme park. Worth knowing that it closed and then reopened under new ownership, so older guides listing it as shut are out of date. Closed on Mondays outside holidays.
