Udupi in Winter (October - February)

Starting from October lasting till February, the winters in Udupi are the most pleasant time of the year, with temperatures ranging from 10 to 30 degrees. This is a great relief from the otherwise hot climate of the town. This is the peak season for tourists, however, October to March are the best months to visit Udupi. During the month of March, Ram Navmi is celebrated with massive religious fervour. Shivratri, Holi and Dussehra are other festivals that are celebrated in Udupi with great pomp. They occur in the months of February, March and October respectively. On Diwali, all the temples are decorated with lights. About one lakh lamps are lit in the street around the Krishna temple. The grand festival of Paryaya is celebrated in winter, every two years which is a grand public ceremony hosted by the Krishna Temple of Udupi. October to December is also a good time to visit the Malpe Beach in Udupi since a lot of of folk dances, drama and art festivals are organized there during this time.
