Suraj Water Park, Mumbai Overview

Suraj Water Park is a theme park in Thane. It was conceptualized by Arun Kumar Muchhalla who is the chairman of Muchhalla Magic Land Pvt Ltd and the owner of the water park. White Water West Industries, Canada designed this theme park over 11-acre land in the city. This park has the longest tunnel in the continent which is made using fibreglass. It has a museum where there are a number of genuine ancient locks. The water park also has 16 slides, including a rainbow slide, a waterfall which is Asia’s largest artificial waterfall and a village themed section called Surajgadh. The park also has locker facilities (rent and deposit charges are applicable) where visitors can keep their belongings.

The themed décor at Suraj Water Park consists of an unusual combination of Traditional and Modern Technology. As soon as the visitors enter, they are greeted by two humongous mermaids on either side of the entrance. As they proceed, they would come across idols of Lord Shiva and Lord Natraj before they head to the thrilling rides and slides. With these features, the water park subsequently gained entry into the Limca Book of Records in 2006 and bagged six different awards including “Pride of Maharashtra” Award by the Department of Tourism, Maharashtra (1999), “Resort of the Year” (2001) and the “International Golden Pony Award” (2001).

More on Suraj Water Park

Suraj water park has a Wave Pool, a Crazy River, a Lazy River and a number of other slides and rides which have been designed to give a complete traditional yet contemporary experience to the guests. The wave pool, which resembles a real beach, is where young and old both can play in the waters and enjoy the gentle waves. The Crazy River and the Lazy Rivers are for floating rides down the artificial rivers. The only difference is that the Lazy River has calm, soothing waters and the Crazy River has some amount of turbulence for a thrilling experience. Both the rivers eventually meet the Wave Pool where the journey of the water system begins again.

There are seven different slides at the water park – the Ulat Pulat Slide, the Shiv Ganga Slide – Har Ganga, Labak Zabak Matak, Ding Dong Sing Song, Dhadkan Sabke Dil Ki and the Rainbow Slides. All the slides are vertical slides. Some of them are 100 feet tall and stretch over 350 feet across the theme park. Visitors can slide solo in a car or with their friends and family on rubber floats. For the children, the water park has “Nanha Tal” which is a small pool with a slide appropriate for children. Suraj Water Park also has a rain dance zone called, “Rim Zim Baarish Hall”, where visitors can dance to some latest beats under the rain-like drizzle.
