Horniman Circle Garden, Mumbai Overview

Horniman Circle Gardens is a well-known attraction for rejuvenation activities. Locals living nearby often head to the gardens for their morning and evening jogs/ walks. The place has well-maintained jogging tracks, pavements, lawns with a decent number of trees. The attraction also houses a kid’s play area where visitors can let their children have fun. How To Reach Horniman Circle Garden

Horniman Circle Gardens is located at Kala Ghoda in South Mumbai. The city, being connected very well by railway lines, unquestionably has local trains as the fastest mode of commutation. So, travellers can board a train heading to this part of Mumbai. The closest railway station is the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Railway Station or the CST Railway Station which is located 1.1 kilometres away from Horniman Circle Gardens.

Similarly, other cities in the country are also well-connected by Indian Railways. Travellers can board one of the trains according to their preference to reach the city. Usually, these trains halt at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Railway Station, but in case they do not, travellers can easily board one of the local trains heading to CST Railway Junction.  

The route leading to Horniman Circle Gardens from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Railway Station goes through Dr. D N Road – Rustom Sidhwa Marg – Sir Pherozeshah Mehta Road – Homji Street. The best way to cover this distance is by an auto rickshaw or a city bus.

The network of state and national highway also connects Mumbai with other parts of the country. Hence, state transport buses, rental cabs or self-driven/ private vehicles can also be good options for travellers to reach the city. For state transport buses, the drop point would be the MSRTC Mumbai Central Bus Stand which is located about 6 kilometres away from the attraction.

From the bus stand, travellers can choose to head to Mumbai Central Railway Station via Dr. A K Hameed Chowk (0.5 kilometres away approximately) or take the roadways to reach the attraction via Dr. Anand Rao Nair Road - J J Flyover - Mohammad Ali Road - Dr. D N Road – Sir Pherozeshah Mehta Road – Homji Street.

Then there are the airways also for the traveller’s convenience. The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport is located about 26 kilometres away from Horniman Circle Gardens. This is the shortest route and goes through Sahar Indian Oil Road – Western Express Highway/ NH 48 – S V Road (towards Gateway of India) – Tilak Bridge – Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marg – J J Road - Mohammad Ali Road - Dr. D N Road – Sir Pherozeshah Mehta Road – Homji Street.

Travellers can also head to the closest railway station, the Santacruz Railway Station (about 7 kilometres away from the airport), to board a local train to reach CST Railway Station. They can then use the public transport (taxi, auto rickshaws etc.) and take the route Dr. D N Road – Rustom Sidhwa Marg – Sir Pherozeshah Mehta Road to reach Homji Street where Horniman Circle Gardens is located.
