Pereybere is the public beach just north of Grand Baie, and the one locals use. It is smaller and shallower than the resort beaches, with the water calm enough for children, and shops and cheap restaurants sitting right behind the sand. It is the practical base if you want Grand Baie's restaurants and boat trips without paying resort prices, and it is busiest at weekends.

How To Reach Pereybere Beach
If you are somewhere around Grand Baie, you can quickly scale the rest of the beaches to get to the Pereybere Beach on foot itself. However, if you are somewhere around Port Louis, your best option to get to the beach is by going to the Immigration Square and take the Express Cap Malheureux Bus, which will drop you at the Pereybere Beach in about an hour only. Nevertheless, if you prefer to be the one behind the steering wheel, making a short 30 minute trip up the M2 freeway is always an available option for you.
