Hong Kong Science Museum, Hong Kong Overview

The Hong Kong Science Museum, located at Tsim Sha Tsui East, Kowloon, is a one-of-a-kind museum that is devoted to the science and modern technology. The exhibitions are divided into two categories - permanent and special exhibitions.

The special exhibitions change each month to introduce new technological advancements, the entry fees for which differs. Among the many world-renowned exhibitions at Hong Kong Science Centre is a twin-tower Energy Machine that boasts a height of 22 meters and displays different energy forms by employing an array of state-of-the-art audio-visual effects. 

Visitors are encouraged to explore and discover exhibitions of interest as well as participate in various interactive activities designed for public entertainment.

Permanent Exhibitions

The Hong Kong Science museum provides access to 18 galleries, which hold approximately 500 exhibition. A majority of these exhibitions are hands-on and have moving parts. These are all dedicated to different scientific areas of interest including: light, sound, motion, electricity and magnetism, mathematics, life science, biodiversity, environmental protection, transportation, telecommunication, food science and home technology.

1. Avail free entry opportunity for full-time students.
2. Consider gift store and bookshop purchases within the premises. These are located at the 1/F lobby of the museum.
3. Access information center for any concerns such as information on past special exhibitions.
4. Consider participating in museum competitions, science lectures, age-wise programs, workshops, educational programs, and using tour guide facility.
5. Wearing comfortable footwear is highly recommended.

How To Reach Hong Kong Science Museum

This attraction is centrally located at 2 Science Museum Road, Tsim Sha Tsui East, and ensures its visitors’ convenience by providing facilities such as wheelchairs for the disabled and a nearby parking area for individuals using their own vehicles for transport.

Further, the museum can be accessed through the following routes:

Bus: Take KMB buses of any of the following reference numbers: 5, 5C, 8, 8A, 13X, 26, 28, 35A, 41A, 81C, 87D, 98D, 110, 208, 208, 215X, 219X, 224X, 269B, or 260X for direct transport to the museum. Alternatively, take City bus No. A21 to the museum

MTR: signs are placed in order to facilitate smooth navigation to the museum by foot.
Take Exit B2 at Tsim Sha Tsui Station and then walk from Cameron Road to Tsim Sha Tsui East (18 - minute walking distance).
Or take Exit D at Jordan Station and then walk from Austin Road to Tsim Sha Tsui East (20 - minute walking distance).
Take Exit P2 at East Tsim Sha Tsui Station and then walk from Chatham Road South to the destination (10 - minute walking distance)
