The Ministry of Home Affairs announced that lockdown in India is extended to June 30th but in this phase, termed Unlock 1, many relaxations will be provided to open the economy. Many relaxations in Green, Orange and Red Zones have to do with travel. The guidelines that affect your travel plans for the future are as follows:
From 8th June, 2020 religious places, hotels, restaurants and shopping malls will be opened along with social distancing measures.
Night curfew is reduced to 9 PM to 5 AM from the previous 7 PM to 7 AM throughout the country.
No special permissions/e-permits required for inter-state and intra-state travel of people and goods. Though, State/UT governments can decide to refrain from certain movements but only with prior notice.
International travel, metro trains and public recreational activities such as swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars, etc. will be assessed and dates for re-start will be announced after thorough evaluation.
