Best Time To Visit Wayanad

Wayanad experiences summer season from March to May. The minimum temperature the region experiences is around 20°C while the maximum is about 35°C. The peak afternoons are often avoided during the season. The mornings and evenings are much preferred for sightseeing. Afternoons can be sent exploring the evergreen forests surrounding the hill station as the temperatures are lower, calmer and more pleasant than other areas. The Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, the Coffee, Tea, Rubber and Pepper Plantations are some of the attractions that must not be missed when visiting during the season. While there, one may even want to participate in or witness the authentic celebrations of summer festivals in Wayanad. Mahashivratri, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is celebrated in March and Thirunelli is celebrated in April.

This period is considered as the peak tourism season. It begins in October and goes on till February. The minimum temperature that the hill station experiences in the season is around 10°C while the maximum is 24°C. The weather stays misty, breezy during the day and chilly in the night time.
