Soochipara Falls, Wayanad Overview

Also known as Sentinel Rock Waterfalls, Soochipara Falls is a three-tiered waterfall situated in Vellarimala, Wayanad. Surrounded by deciduous, evergreen and montane forests, this waterfall is regarded as one of the best waterfalls. The drive from Meppadi to Sentinel Rock Waterfalls provides visitors with scenic views of some of the best tea estates in Wayanad. This enchanting waterfall is 200 meters high that also offer a cliff face, ideal for rock climbing. Also, since the water falling from the waterfall forms a large pool, one can enjoy swimming and bathing in it.

The water falling from Soochipara later joins Chulika River aka Chaliyar River after hills from Kerela and Tamil Nadu. Filled with varied flora and fauna, tourists are likely to have a lot of fun exploring and enjoying the natural beauty that the waterfall offers.

The drive itself up till the place is enjoyable and exciting. The forest department provides a few tree-top accommodations to its visitors. Soochipara Waterfalls in Wayanad is a very famous attraction. Its name has been derived from two words- soochi meaning rock and para meaning needle. Tips For Visiting Soochipara Falls

1. Since the waterfall lies amongst the most eco-friendly spots, the tourists should not be carrying plastic bags or any such substance which can mess up the surroundings. On the entry point of the waterfall, guards will check if the tourists are carrying any plastic or not. In case somebody is carrying water bottles inside, they need to deposit INR 50 per bottle and collect the tag for it. While returning, the tag needs to be shown and the money will be refunded.
2. The visitors are not allowed the intake of alcohol or any such substance during their trip to the waterfalls.
3. Follow the rules and guidelines set by the guides there.
4. The visitors will be provided with meals and transportation as well if the required personnel are informed before time and are paid extra for the services.

They say you need to drive deep to see the actual nature that's what it is.Well maintained ,less dangerous and actually it's easy to stand below waterfalls and experience the peace...No doubt you need lot of energy when you are coming back from that place..It will take half a day of your plan.Make sure you keep it for noon.
