Waterfront Promenade, Singapore Overview

The Waterfront Promenade is a long walking stretch of more than 2 miles lying across the bay walkway and connecting the Bayfront, Marina Centre and Collyer Quar in Singapore. The well-kept waterfront is lined with boutique shops and fancy restaurants. Visitors also often come here to witness the sunsets and high rise views. The main attraction of Waterfront Promenade is the Merlion statue (the national icon of Singapore).

The promenade has mild mist sprays and breeze shelters that have motion sensor fans to soothe the visitors from the scorching heat of Singapore. Surrounded by towering architectures and fancy architectures, it reflects the true essence of the Singapore city. The Waterfront Promenade serves as a perfect track for fitness enthusiasts - locals often come here for a jog, walk or even to have their outdoor yoga sessions. Merlion Statue at Waterfront Promenade

At the far end of the Waterfront Promenade lies Singapore's signature Merlion. Depicted as a mythical creature that has a body of a fish and the head of a lion, the Merlion serves as a symbol of tourism in Singapore. It has a wide representation as a mascot to the city and its citizens in tourism branding, sports, advertising and as a national identity. No tourist ever returns from Singapore without witnessing the Merlion in all its glory.

Spectra - Waterfront Promenade Light Show

Spectra is a breathtaking light and water show that has been leaving its viewers awestruck since 2017. It is clearly viewed from the Waterfront Promenade. Combining state-of-the-art lasers, lights, water effects and projections, Spectra creates a spectacular show based on Singapore's journey of becoming the progressive cosmopolitan city it now is.

The fifteen-minute show is divided into four parts. It uses innovative water-fountain technologies such as pyramids, gyroscopic arcs, straight jets, lava and mist effects, creating a canvas for visual projections of Spectra. The heartbeat of the show is the 12-meter-high glass prism that opens into life, adding extra reflection to the show. Spectra was developed by Imagination Australia, an Australian agency, making it a phenomenal show.

Timings of Spectra
