Khao Kheow Open Zoo, Pattaya Overview
With a spectacular backdrop of lofty hills covered with lush green rainforests, Khao Kheow Open Zoo houses more than 300 species of animals with a total count of about 8000 animals. Animals are kept in a distinct natural environment according to their species. You can go around on foot, drive a personal car, hire an electric car for THB 200, or avail of the free open bus service.
Snakes, Tigers, Hippos, Tapir, Wilde Beasts, Rhinos, Elephant, Lions, Flamingo, Giraffes, Hyena, Tapir, and many more creature call this place their home. One can enjoy feeding the animals with food bought at the stalls at the zoo, although feeding a monkey is not advisable.Opened in 1978, Khao Kheow Open Zoo is spread over a vast area of 2000 acres nestled inside the Khao Kheow Chom Puo Wildlife Sanctuary.
