Pattaya was absolutely fun but a little scary too, at least for the first time. Located about 2 to 2 and a half hours away from Bangkok, this coastal city is probably one of the hottest destinations in Thailand. The water based activities are worth it. I had a lot of fun parasailing, jet skiing and scuba diving. Coral Islands is accessible through motor boats only and it is really fun once you reach there. There are other beach activities, souvenir shops and even hair styling salons which will really get you in the mood. Once you come back to the city, the nightlife pulls you in. I shopped with my family and visited many live concerts in the street bazaars. Late at night, we even watched the famous Alcazar show and it will be something I will always remember for life. As I mentioned earlier, it can get really scary too if someone is not well accustomed to the night life. But with an open mind, the experience I got from Pattaya is something I probably will not get anywhere else.
Pattaya, situated in Eastern Thailand is a beautiful resort that attracts thousands of tourists each year from many countries, especially India. Famous for its chain of beaches and sprawling nightlife, Pattaya is the perfect place to get rid of all your stress and tensions. My favourite thing about Pattaya has to be its crystal-clear waters and beach sports. One can enjoy para sailing, jet skiing and several other water-based activities. The coral reefs in Pattaya are something you can't afford to miss. The underwater experience has been my favourite out of the lot because it felt amazing to feed the fishes underwater and to freely swim in the clean aqua. Pattaya's walking street is full of street foods, flower sellers and thrift shops. Thailand is famous for its trendy yet cheap clothes and you would definitely want to invest in a floral print maxi dress or a gorgeous pair of footwear. Adults and teenagers can also visit the Tiffany Show which is like a performing opera where you can enjoy performances by artists. What I loved the most about the Tiffany Show was that it was themed on Bollywood and one could hear Hindi songs being performed on. A visit to the temples and museums is also a great option as you get to explore the religious beliefs and culture of the people in Pattaya. My favourite street food to have in Pattaya is the chicken roll that is available for cheap and the yummy sweet coconut water that I definitely miss in India! You can also find several Indian restaurants if you miss the home-cook food but I found them to be expensive. The massages and nail art salons in Pattaya are amazing and they definitely make you relax and forget all your worries. Thai spa and hot oil massages are my favourite from the trip.
Pattaya was a short trip from Bangkok I easily made by road in approximately 2 hours. Buses and taxis are readily available. During the day, I visited the Pattaya Beach, which was a bit too crowded for my liking and only fairly clean. The highlight, however, was the parasailing I engaged in. When I was trailing through the air, it was the calmest I had ever felt. The Tiffany Cabaret Show is a must-see. The ladyboy performers are gorgeous, and their performances are breathtaking. It was a complete celebration. I tried some local foods- glass noodles, som tum, pad krapow moo saap- all highly recommended. I regret not visiting the Walking Street, a popular nightlife haunt, due to the shortage of time. With its street lined with nightclubs and bars, it is the one-stop party destination. This tops my to-do list for my next visit to Thailand.
