As the name suggests for itself, the Casela Nature Park is famous as Casela World of Adventures. Covering an area of over 250 hectares, this park is a haven of nature, adventure and wildlife activities. It is situated in the Cascavelle, a Mauritian village on the west coast of the island. Surrounded by sugarcane fields and with the majestic Rempart Mountain as a background view, the Casela nature park is an ideal destination for enjoying a tropical wildlife experience with family and friends. It was inaugurated back in 1979 and since then, new activities were being added continuously transforming it into one of the most visited place in Mauritius. Perhaps, it wouldn’t be incorrect to say that the Casela World of Adventures is one of the most extensive natural parks in all of Mauritius and also in the world with its own forest like ambience, animal stockade, canyon and waterfall.
The adventure grounds are home to some of the exotic animal species like the Java deer, Macaque monkeys, Wild Boars, Hares and Fruit bats as well as some indigenous plant species, namely Cassias, Ebony, Pink Pepper plants and Tamarind. In order for the guests to enjoy the wildlife activities, the Casela nature park is divided into 4 kingdoms:
Safari Kingdom for activities like quad biking, photo-safari, specific big cat and giraffe areas.
Nature Kingdom where the bird park and canopy can be found along with an animal show.
Middle Kingdom has adrenaline activities like mud karting.

Big Cats Activities
The natural park is popular for its big cat troops which include the Bengal tigers, lions and caracals. Big Cats Drive Thru
In this activity, the visitors have to board a safari vehicle which takes them to the big cats? area where they get the opportunity to experience the wild African feel. The ride is a fantastic way to capture some breathtaking moments in photographs. Under the guidance and supervision of professional handlers, the guests can touch the big cats while observing them closely and appreciating their beauty with the closest encounter possible.

Segway Safari Trip
The Segway safari trip lets you enjoy the beauty of nature and wildlife with speed and ease simultaneously. The trip is undertaken with an electronic vehicle that gives a ride as similar as walking and lets the passenger discover the wildlife showcasing the abundance of Java deer, mongoose, zebras, African antelopes, ostriches, hares, macaques monkey along with several rare plants species as well.

Safari Quad Biking
If you are looking for a more relaxing way to manoeuvre around in the park, safari quad biking would just be the perfect choice. You get to enjoy the splendid ambience of the forest scenes through the valley and across the river along with the sights of the wildlife. There are three types of vehicles to be chosen from ? single quad, double quads and buggy.

The Casela nature park is home to 9 giraffes and the visitors experience a close encounter with them through the giraffe feeding activity where they can feed them with their palms while admiring the beauty of their tall figure.
The adventure packed and fun filled mud karting is a track with a bundle of twists and turns, straight tracks and overtakes, all of these together testing your driving skills as an off-road driver. The participants are fully protected from start till the end of the crazy ride with safety harnesses, waterproof helmets and special clothing.

Casela Nature Park offers a very different kind bungee jumping experience ? the canyon swing. After being briefed about the safety measures and equipped with harnesses properly, the participants can enjoy flying between the canyons by jumping from a 45 meter high platform.

Tourists can rent cars, vans, minibuses and luxury cars from outside the airport or any part of the island and head to Casela. The taxis do not run on meter so you have to negotiate the fair with the driver. For those who are staying in a hotel at Casela can visit the nature park with a bicycle. Public services from the airport take you to Casela which is a 30 minutes journey and other regional bus companies spread out across the island offer services too.
