Maritime Museum, Macau Overview

The Macau Maritime Museum, located at Sao Laurenco, displays real exhibits, trading items, gallery of aquariums, sea relations of Macau along with tools of fishing and history of Macau. Best suited for the lovers of history and traditions, it provides an all-over display and information regarding tools, instruments, ships, discoveries, technology and other related items.

Spreading over an area of 800 metre, the museum is housed over three floors, each with a different theme. Starting from the ground floor which showcases the life and culture of fishermen of Macau and South China with ships, instruments and different methods of fishing and varieties of fish and shellfish, it is a perfect place to watch and learn. The next floor is the display of the Great Discovery with Maritime historical studies and stories of China and Portugal. The second floor of Macau Maritime Museum is an amalgamation of Technology and Transport used in the sea with the collection of the latest ships and traditional tools used while shipping. There is also a weather monitor and a real Dragon Boat which is used during the Dragon Festival.
