Although the underwater metro service is not operational at present, it is set to be completed by March 2022. Once it's finished, it will connect Salt Lake Sector V to Howrah Maidan and is expected to carry about 2 lakh people daily. However, for now, the East-West corridor will connect the six stations like Sector V, Karunamoyee, Central Park, City Centre, Bengal Chemical and Salt Lake Stadium along the route covering 12 kilometres.The East-West corridor has secured its place in the pages of transportation history of India.
