Solan in Monsoon (September - November)

Besides, Sair fair is held on the Ashwin of Sankranti which falls on 16th or 17th of September. The festival, which is a two-day event is famous for bullfights. Solan in Winter (December - February)

Winters are not ideal for visiting Solan because it is biting cold. The temperatures fall below zero degrees. The mountain tops are shrouded with dense fogs which make it challenging to go sightseeing or trekking. However, one of the things that can be enjoyed in the winter is the Cham and Bon's dances performed on the New Year's Eve in the Menri Monastery every year. Named after the Hindu Goddess, Shoolini a 3 day festival is held in her honor every year during the month of June. You can visit during summers, to have a good escape from the North Indian heat, and immerse yourself in the cool winds of Solan.
