Flat-bottomed bumboats, the same style of open wooden boat that once ferried cargo along the Singapore River, run a narrated 40-minute tourist cruise between Marina Bay, Merlion Park, Boat Quay, and Clarke Quay, passing the Fullerton Hotel, Cavenagh Bridge, Elgin Bridge, and the conserved shophouse terraces of the quays. Tickets are available at Clarke Quay and Merlion Park jetties; the ride runs until around 11pm. The experience is best after dark when the riverside buildings are lit up and the heat has eased.
