Essel World, Mumbai Overview

One of the most famous and popular amusement parks in the country, Essel World is located in Gorai, close to the capital of Maharashtra, Mumbai. EsselWorld and Water Kingdom together make one of Asia's largest amusement parks. They expand over an area of 64 acres and are frequented by locals and non-locals from all age groups, especially kids. With some exciting rides and entertainment, Essel World and Water Kingdom are a favourite summer destination for many families. Amusement Rides
One can take rides depending on the age and height requirements. There are rides for children, for teenagers and adults and for the entire family to choose from. Some of these are the adventurous kinds and get your adrenaline pumping in no time. At EsselWorld, there are 11 adventurous rides, 15 rides suitable for children and 14 rides apt for families to enjoy together.

Horror Ride 
This is India's scariest ride ever. It is named "Monster in the Mist" and is a perfect ride for those who love the thrill of getting freaked out by images coming straight out of horror movies. The ride lasts barely for 5 minutes but is a great experience to have. It will take you through a dark, misty and foggy lane that is filled with excitement. The top class audio and brilliant animatronics only add to the atmosphere created in the dark lane. Scream as much as you want, but do not miss this ride.

Water Rides 
Water Kingdom is the counterpart of Essel World that has only water rides. Water rides, water, slides, wave-pool, fountains, swimming pool, the lagoon or the aqua play pool etc. Water rides have several themes like the Elephant Safari and the Serpent Safari. The wave-pool is the largest in India and has clear blue water, latest wave technology and lush green landscaped gardens around. The lagoon occupies over 30,000 square feet of area and is a perfect area to relax in the water

Water Kingdom

The Water Kingdom is a state of the art water park located right next to Essel World and is well- equipped with various amusement rides and one of the largest wave pools in the country. The Wave Pool stretches to a length to 100 metres and its cool blue expanses welcome young old alike with its undulating water currents. There are various thrill rides, roller coasters, and even a rain dance zone. Tickets for the Water Kingdom can be booked on their website and are separate from the entry for Essel World.

Things To Do at

Skating Rink 
Essel World houses a grand skating rink that occupies over 3400 square feet of area. This is the only place in Mumbai where one can find the temperature going as low as 4 degrees Celsius for obvious reasons. Skating shoes are available on an hourly basis on the payment of a small fee. This is the only amusement that isn't included in the entry pass/ ticket and visitors need to pay an entrance fee to participate. Whether you are a pro or not, a skating experience in this rink in the super hot and humid weather of Mumbai is quite a relief to many.

Bowling Alley 
Essel World has a Bowling Alley of its own. It's a 6 lane bowling alley and is called the Riki's Rocking Alley. The Bowling Alley has an arcade of its own and a restaurant that serves scrumptious Indian Cuisine.

Essel World Dance Floor 
What's fun without music and dance, right? The dance floor has a complete glass floor, fabulous lights, and a well equipped audio system to provide international quality audio for a splendid dancing experience. The dance floor can be booked for private events as well. You are sure to get blown by some awesome Bollywood, Western and Fusion music to dance on here.

Food 
There are several eateries and restaurants inside the premises that serve all sorts of delicious, mouth-watering food. One can choose from South-Indian, Punjabi, Chinese, and Italian. So choose a snack or have a proper meal, there everything for everyone here. Don't forget the dessert after your meal. How about an ice-cream?

Best Time To Visit

The best time to visit Essel World and Water Kingdom is between September and June to avoid the heavy Mumbai monsoons and make the most of the rides. Water Kingdom especially is best during the summers i.e. between March and June.

Tips For Visiting Essel World

1. Visitors are not allowed to take any food items inside.
2. Appropriate swimwear is needed when using the water park.
3. Try to reach as early as possible to make the most of both the amusement parks.

How To Reach Essel World

The route to Essel World and Water Kingdom is very well connected by road within the city. Local buses frequently ply to the amusement parks. One can hail a direct bus, Bus No. 4, from Bhayander Bus depot.

Tourists can also hire taxis, rent cabs or drive their private vehicles via Western Express Highway to reach the amusement parks. From the Western Express Highway, they need to take a left turn to Kashimira and drive towards Mira-Bhayander Road and follow the signboards that lead to the park. From Kashimira, it takes about 45 minutes to reach the amusement park.

There are direct buses arranged by Authorized Travel Companies that cover the route from Ambernath, Badlapur, Panvel, Kharghar, CBD Belapur, Nerul, Vashi, and Thane and from Ullhasnagar, Bhayanadarn to reach the amusement parks.

If travelling by local train, one needs to take a western railway train to Borivali Station or Malad Station. BEST Bus No. 294 to reach Gorai-Borivali from Borivali Station and Bus No. 272 to reach Marve-Malad from Malad Station. From the station, tourists can also hire an auto-rickshaw to reach the bus termination points.

From the Bus Termination Points, tourists need to take a ferry ride to reach the amusement parks. These ferry rides begin from Gorai-Borivali from Borivali Station and are available every 15 minutes except between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Ticket Charges are approximately INR 50 per person.
