Festivals at Gorai Beach

Mumbai is popular for its Ganesh Visarjan and Holi festivals. Also called as the Festival of Colours, Holi is mostly celebrated in the beach areas. Gorai Beach hosts enormous holi celebrations. With crowds of people singing and dancing to the tunes of ‘Rang Barse’, both the venue and the festival  are a favourite among the Mumbaikars. Other than Holi, Ganesh Visarjan is an elaborate affair with the immersion of the idol of Lord Ganesha in the waters. The tenth day of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with a lot of zeal and fervour on the beach.

Best Time To Visit Gorai Beach

We agree that any time is good for beach time but if you are looking for a crazy night of drinking, loud music and similar shenanigans, we recommend you to visit Gorai Beach at any full moon night, when they organize crazy parties. You can either party and return back to your accommodation or you can simply rent any luxury or budget hotels right there near the beach.

Tips For Visiting Gorai Beach

1. Avoid visiting the beach during the day in the months of April, May, June, July and August. It might get really sultry and you might get bad sun burns.

How To Reach Gorai Beach

Located at a distance of around 40 kms from Mumbai, you can drive down to the beach through Uttan Road. Or you take a ferry from ‘Gorai Ferry Point’, 3 kms from Borivali. Hire a local rickshaw or take a bus to reach the ferry point from Borivali station.
