Maldives is comprised several islands, each quite set apart from the other. The more commercial and known ones include Alimantha, Mirihi, Kudahuvadhoo, Gan and Hulhule. You can get from one island to other by seaplanes or Dhonis, local boats with diesel engines - you will definitely be spoilt for the choice whether you opt for the aerial views in a seaplane or drifting in the cool blue waters on a boat.
While Gan is the largest island in the Maldives, Kudahuvadhoo has ruins which are rumoured to be Buddhist temples, Mirihi named after a local flower, boasts of an exclusive reef and water bungalows. Alimantha Island is yet another renowned diving and snorkelling spot, its shallow waters, ideal even for children.
