Sam Kai Vui Kun, Macau Overview

Sam Kai Vui Kun or Kuan Tai Temple is situated in front of St.Dominics Market Complex near Senado square. It is dedicated to Kuan/Gung Tai, the god of martial arts and wealth. The temple is a modern structure and accurately portrays the peaceful coexistence of the Chinese and the Portuguese.

Two main events take place in the temple – The Feast of Drunken Dragon and The Feast of Kun Tai. The former takes place in mid-May, while the latter sometime around late June. On both of these occasions, the site would be bustling with activities and swarming with crowds.

Other than this, the temple is also known for its architecture with its yingshan style roof; the incense shrouded main hall and the gable wall with exquisite stone sculptures. The name translates to "a community hall for three streets" as it is located at the junction of three of the oldest streets in Macau.
