Conceptualized by Vietnamese journalist and artist Nguyen Thu Thuy, the decorative patterns on the wall are a visual narration of the country's history from different periods, along with modern artwork and children's drawings.

Hanoi Ceramic Mosaic mural was built to mark the 1000th anniversary of the founding of the capital Thang Long. The design and construction started in 2007, giving this drab road, a colorful vibe. It was the genius mind of Nguyen Thu Thuy, a journalist, that came up with this wonderful idea to revamp the walls into colourful art pieces.
