Moving around in Lucknow is never a problem, local modes of transport are available round the clock, autos and taxis being the most insistent type. All modes are affordable and very convenient. Recently the government has flagged off the metro which is expected to make commuting faster and easier.

Buses
The local city uses run in plenty in Lucknow, on common routes. They are cheap, safe and reliable. Other than that, private buses run for tourists which have a set route for sightseeing and heritage visits.

Autorickshaws
Three wheelers are also available in the city. You can either travel through shared autos, also called “Tempos” or hire your personal one which is slightly smaller in size than a tempo and can accommodate 4 people at max. Popularly called as “Autos”, it is advisable to bargain before hiring one.

Taxis
Prepaid taxis can be hired from any place to any destination for easy commuting. Ola cabs are also available. Although slightly expensive, these are the most comfortable option to travel.

Metro
The metro changed the way people commute in Lucknow. Operational from 6 AM to 10 PM every day, the metro covers all the major parts of the city. It is a stress-free, easy commuting option and is also expected to reduce traffic jams on the roads.
