Divided into several shopping lanes, the market is a great choice to pick up the exquisite Lucknawi chikankaari clothes. Besides the rich chikan embroidered textiles ranging from kurtas, dupattas, dress materials and wedding wear, one can also surf amid other inexpensive clothing lines here.
The iconic juthis or traditional shoes are abundantly available as well. There are gold and silver jewellery stalls sprinkled all across the market's tight streets. Apart from these, some other shopping items on the list would include dry fruits, bags, perfumes, bedsheets, regional sweets and home decor needs.

Aminabad History
Although there is no concrete commence date, the Aminabad market is said to have been in vogue since the time of the Nawabs. Said to have been owned by Rani Jai Kunwar Pandey, the market turned into a haggling area after the Nawabs shifted to Lucknow from Faizabad.
However, colonial India pushed aside markets such as Chowk and Nakhas, thus bringing Aminabad to the spotlight with the construction of the Aminuddaulah Park in 1912. This park soon became a political zone with many hoisted flags and was called the Jhandewala Park. Many freedom leaders such as Jawarharlal Nehru used the park to deliver speeches.

Tips
- Not all shops would accept digital or card payments, it is advisable to carry hard cash and there aren't many ATMs available either.
- Returning beyond 9:30 PM could be difficult if relying on autos or other public transport.
