Shahi Baoli, Lucknow Overview
Shahi Baoli is an intricate merge of Indian and Islamic architectural styles, formerly built as a reservoir. It was constructed between 1784 and 1795 by Nawab Asif-Ud-Daula and Kifayat-Ullah, one of the excellent architects of the time. The structure has five storeys, with the bottom three used as regular storage space and the top two as occasional reserves. Though it is just a reservoir, it is an ornate one, with brilliant archways and exquisitely carved doorways.
