Churches in Dubai

The Catholic community of Dubai was initially served from Bahrain, but needs soon arose for a permanent resident-priest. Fr. Therefore Barnabas turned to the benevolent Sheik Rashid and asked for an area for a place of worship. This request was granted immediately, but the plot given was quite far away. Father Eusebio Daveri, on his arrival to Dubai in 1965, acquired a more convenient area and started preparations for a church. A parish hall was ready in early 1966. Sheik Rashid himself laid the foundation stone for the church on 25 May 1966 and was solemnly blessed by Mgr Magliacani on 7 April 1967. It was then dedicated to the Mother Mary, hence the name.

The United Christian Church of Dubai is an Evangelical church which was established in 1962. It bears an Arabic Style Architecture in Jumeirah. It holds a weekly Friday service to encourage all its fellow worshippers. One can become members of the UCCD and can attend the Membership Matters classes.

Mor Ignatius Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Cathedral in Dubai dates back to March 1967. The Cathedral has 3 thronos. With a membership of 7, it has thrived to nearly 400 members currently and has over 1000 attendees. The church holds regular events, Masses and blood donation camps.

Holding an Evangelical ministry, Covenant Hope Church Dubai is a beautiful church who holds the vision to instil beliefs in everyone who walks in through the doors. They hold Bible Studies for its disciples and those who are keen on learning.

The new Church and Chapel of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church was formed in December 2013. It is a Parish Church, has an established membership and is home to about 80 groups. It holds Vacation Bible School and The Holy Mass every now and then. There are several Ministries and Communities under the church.

Established in 1997, the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church is also referred to as the Union Church, the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Byzantine rite or the Kyivan Catholic Church. It is the largest Eastern Catholic Church of its own law. They hold grandeur celebrations especially Easter which many of its worshippers look forward to.

Dubai Mar Thoma Church in Dubai is one of the largest congregations of the Mar Thoma Church worldwide. It was founded back in the year 1969. It celebrated 50 years in 2018 on a large scale. It is a Parish Church holding a couple of events. It was created to serve the spiritual growth of the Mar Thoma community in Dubai.

Emirates Baptist Church International was established back in 1928. It commenced with a group of 28 believers and has evolved and grown ever since its inception. It holds regular Friday weekly worship service for its worshippers who gather together to pray in good spirits. 

Listed under the top 10 churches of Dubai, the Pentecostal church is also known as King’s Revival Church INT’L Ministries. It holds 3 Miracle Healing Rallies per week and 16 Miracle Life Services in Dubai. It is located in Al Barsha.

St. Mina Coptic Orthodox Church opened its doors in the year 1986. It is built in modern Coptic shape of Noah's Ark. They impart biblical education, preach Orthodoxy and church dogma. They also mark important events and celebrate landmarks. It is located in the Jebel Ali area.

The Redeemer Church originated in the year 2010 by Pastor Dave Furman and a core team of members from the United Christian Church of Dubai. It has grown over the last 9 years in membership from different parts of the world like Africa, Asia, Australia, and America; from Sri Lanka, India, the Philippines, and Egypt. The Church meets every Friday at the JW Marriott at 9:00 am and 11:00 am.

The Bible-based Church- The City Church was founded in 1991. It is a free-spirited ministry with over 1000 members from different parts of the world. They hold a meeting in the Holy Trinity Church Compound in Dubai every Thursday evening to discuss values and the Bible together.

The CSI Parish Dubai was established in the year 1975. Every Thursday, they get together to pray. They hold Sunday Schools, Women's fellowship and has extended a huge member base over the years. It has grown as a church and as a community.
