What is the best time to visit Yelagiri?

As a hill station, the town has cold, pleasant temperatures throughout the year. Yelagiri is also somewhat of a respite from the hot, sometimes unbearable temperatures of most of the cities in the south. Owing to its latitude, it never really gets too hot. The winters aren't very chilly either. So going to Yelagiri at anytime is just as much fun. Although, the summers might seem to be a good time to visit Yelagiri, the winter months of November to February are ideal for witnessing the true colours of the hill station and all that it has to offer, but if you want to see its Summer Festival, then May and June is the time to go.

Yelagiri in Winter (November-February)

The winters in Yelagiri are hands down the best time to visit the quaint hill station. The chilly weather during which temperatures drop down to an average of 12 to 24 degree Celsius makes for the most amicable conditions. It is the perfect time to visit the place with your loved ones and explore the beauty of this hidden destination. This encourages tourists and even neighbouring city dwellers to flood into the hill station and visit the various sightseeing spots and attractions that are spread across the area.

Yelagiri in Monsoon (July-September)

The monsoon season in Yelagiri is not a particularly good season to visit as the place loses some of its charms. This magnificent hill station comes alive during the monsoon when the place experiences 900mm rainfall on an average. This means that there is an almost continuous downpour along with occasional thunderstorms that should be better avoided. However, the cold winds during the evening make the weather a little chilly, making it a perfect time for those who love the monsoons.

November - February

Located in a valley, the trek to the Jalagamparai falls can be a bit daunting. However, upon reaching the location it is all worth it. The best time to visit is from November-Feb as it gushes with water at this time. Avoid visiting in summers specially around April as there is a good chance it will be dry.
