Jalagamparai Falls, Yelagiri Overview
The Jalagamparai Waterfalls is the main attraction in Yelagiri, Vellore District, Tamil Nadu. The Attaru river flows through the pleasant hill station of Yelagiri and breaks into a beautiful fall from the mountain rocks. The misty weather, combined with the scent of orchards and rose gardens in the area, makes for a scenic adventure. Trekking to the waterfall through a 5 km trek may seem intensive but is well worth it.
The water is said to have medicinal properties as the falls flow through areas where rich, indigenous herbs are grown. The fall dries up in the summer and is best seen around November and December. Local guides are also available.

Tips
- Ensure that there is flow before you visit as the falls dry out in the summer. November - January is considered as the peak-flow time.
- Visit the Government Silk Farm and Mulberry plantations amongst other places to visit in Yelagiri. There is a guided tour explaining sericulture.
