Koh Ha, Krabi Overview

Koh Ha meaning ‘five’ islands in Thai, is located in the Andaman Sea, which is under the supervision of Mu Koh Lanta National Marine Park. As the name suggests, Koh Ha consists of five beautiful limestone islands which are geographically on the west of Koh Lanta. This tropical paradise is a favourite spot for Snorkeling, scuba diving, and other water activities.

You can dive into the freshwater surrounding the island and discover the mysterious caves. These caves have natural light nourishing several marine species. A visit to Koh Ha will leave you mesmerised as it has the most magnificent snorkelling spots, white-sand beaches, expansive coral reefs, and crystal clear waters. Also, know that Koh Ha was originally known as Tuk Narima Island in the Malay language. The best time to visit Koh Ha is between October and June.

The Lagoon
The Lagoon is the central lagoon area of Koh Ha. The macro and juvenile marine life of this site is the captivating factor of this diving site. It is one of the best options for diving, especially if you are a beginner. You will get to see Porcupine Pufferfish along the gently sloping reefs of the site.

The Cathedral
This site is one of the highlights having a series of interconnected chambers. One of the biggest chambers is known as The Cathedral, where you will find limestone stalactites. It is the primary attraction of this diving site.

The Chimney
It has a low entrance with a shallow chamber and huge windows where you will find sea snakes, lionfish, nudibranchs, glass shrimps, and other small crustaceans.

How To Reach Koh Ha

It is quite challenging to reach Koh Haa because of the less number of speedboats from Krabi. However, there are speedboats available from Krabi to Koh Haa which takes only 90 minutes and can accommodate thirty passengers.
