Tup Island, Krabi Overview
Located near Chicken Island in the Mu Koh Poda archipelago southwest of Ao Nang, Tup Island is a serene destination in Krabi known for swimming, snorkeling, or just a relaxed day out at the beach. During low tides, a submerged patch of sand resurfaces to connect Tup Island with Chicken Island, a phenomenon locally called Talay Waek or Divided Sea.
Getting to walk across the sea taking this sand bank is a unique experience, but make sure you wear reef shoes or flip flops to save your feet’s soles from sharp shells and corals. Comparatively smaller than its neighbors, this offshore island offers picturesque scenic beauty and a peaceful time by the sea. It is also known as Tub Island or Koh Thap.
