RUCI Art Space, Jakarta Overview

Derived from the Sanskrit word meaning "the source of light" and "taste" or "pleasure," RUCI Art Space is a place created for displaying many beautiful forms of arts like paintings and photography from contemporary artists of Indonesia and the world.The aim of this creative venue is to raise awareness about the ever evolving Indonesian culture. It hosts regular rotations of solo and group exhibitions.

Located in the hip and happening neighbourhood of Senopati, is the RUCI Art Space. A walk through this beautiful gallery will find one immersed in the mesmerizing artwork. RUCI Art Space aims to attract the crowds to the gripping artwork and also give a boost and a platform to the budding artists to showcase their artwork which is based on their life experiences and cultural knowledge.

The art space features four different solo exhibitions every year. All this is also accompanied by side activities such as creative workshops, dialogues, and lectures to keep one occupied at all times.

The casual vibe of the place also attracts crowds of a younger age to get awed by the inspiring artworks arranged neatly on the walls. The airy space gives one the liberty to sit back and revel in the beauty of the artwork at one's own time and leisure.

Kinez Riza:- The Kinez Riza’s experience is one to look out for. The highlight of this exhibition is the darkroom which creates an eerie atmosphere and a moving projected image which will make your balance waiver. The other is a unique forest place which has a thick bed of dying leaves on the floor and a sweet smell to give the chills and feels of being in the forest.

Cafe:- Also, don’t forget to check out the large café which is attached to the gallery which is decorated with some designer pieces and is a great place to enjoy everything from mains like rice and noodles to side dishes like tacos, and some refreshing drinks and tantalizing pastries and desserts ranging from pannacotta and fritters.

How to Reach

There are various ways to reach the RUCI Art Space, one can board the train and get down at Jakarta Pusat or McCafe Jakarta and from there it is a five to ten minutes’ walk to the gallery. There are different buses which operate to the attraction as well such as Bus - 45, Bus - P37, Bus - P67, Bus - R57.
If one is on the lookout for a more convenient option and does not mind spending a little bit extra hire a private or public taxi which will take one directly to the art gallery.
