Kampar River is an ideal location in Ipoh to enjoy white water rafting. Embrace the adrenaline junkie in you as a professionally-oared raft takes you through 14 consecutive rapids for 7 km on the Kampar River. The journey takes around 1.5-2 hours. The rafting ride starts from Ulu Geruntum, part of the Ulu River Lodge near Gopeng.
Before the ride, you will be given a standard briefing, including standard procedure, paddling commands, capsize drills, and overboard rescue actions. You will also be provided with life jackets and helmets. Kampar River is known for its tidal bores, a geographical phenomenon where waves from the sea travel upstream at high speed to form rough waves. The tidal bore makes river surfing and white water rafting popular here. Water activities are difficult in River Kampar because of the choppy waters, excessive mud, and crocodiles' presence. However, for the adventure-lovers, these challenges make the activity more appealing.
