Ho Yan Hor Museum , Ipoh Overview

Located next to Han Chin Pet Soo Museum in Negeri Perak, Ipoh, the Ho Yan Hor Museum shares amazing stories of Ho Yan Hor, the famous tea brand since the 1940s known for their Chinese herbal tea. It presents the discovery of the origin and evolution of heritage herbal tea.

The museum is built at a two-story building where Dr. Ho started this tea. The tea has a special blend of 29 natural herbs blended with premium Pu Erh tea leaves. It is said that the original recipe had many health benefits. It lessened the heatiness of the body, helped overcome illnesses like the common cold and had antioxidants.

Inside Ho Yan Hor Museum

One of the things to notice even before getting inside the museum is a huge mural art by Ernest Zacharevic hinting people of the days when tin mining was the industry that brought prosperity to this town.
The museum has colorful walls painted by Chin Choon Yau. It has exhibits showing the growth of Ho Yan Hor.
They have 25 of their secret ingredients of the tea on display.
On the ground floor, they have kitchen having antique cupboards and cabinets with all the food, ingredients and cooking wares. At the center of the kitchen, there is a huge stove.
When you get to the second floor, you will see a corner having a work desk with a typewriter depicting the old days.
Next, they have a cart that was used to sell the tea.
Near the end of the exhibits, they have a short video about Ho Yan Hor.
After the end of the whole museum tour, they have some samples of their best teas for you to taste.

How to Reach Ho Yan Hor Museum

One may take a local bus to reach the museum but the bus routes are not well provided which makes going by car or a taxi easier. One may also use Grab, the taxi app, as it is much more hassle-free.
