Pomelo Harvesting, Ipoh Overview
Tambun Valley just outside Ipoh is Malaysia's pomelo country, not orange country, and the roadside farms along the Tanjung Rambutan road let you walk the orchards, watch the picking and taste before you buy. The main season runs November to March and peaks around Chinese New Year, when the fruit is given as a gift and the stalls are busiest. Outside those months the stalls stay open but the fruit is stored rather than picked that morning.
