Tamar Park, Hong Kong Overview

Located at Harcourt Road, Tamar Park is a public park covered with a green carpet in Hong Kong. Positioned by the side of Legislative Council Complex and the recently constructed Central Government Offices, the park provides its visitors with solace in its green and serene environment complemented with splendid views of Victoria Harbour.

Spread over an area of 1.76 hectares, the Tamar Park is a division of the Tamar Development Project and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong government is responsible for its management. The park also connects with the Star Ferry Pier and the Central Piers through its link up with the Central and Western District Promenade. Opened in October 2011 for public use, many concerts, group yoga classes, art events and music festivals can also be witnessed here occasionally.

Facilities at Tamar Park

Tamar Park is well equipped with green carpet, landscaped garden and an amphitheatre consisting of a performance area with a capacity of approximately 240 people which can be hired by organizations for cultural performances.
There is a Tamar Corner, floating platform and water feature along with Tamar Café serving delicious food.
Basic facilities of toilets, lift, visual fire alarm, floor plan, tactile guide path and Braille directory map are also present at the park.

Best Time to Visit

It is recommended to visit Tamar Park late in the afternoon or in the evening to experience the best views.

MTR: MTR can be taken to Admiralty Station (Exit A).

Mini Bus: Green Mini Bus numbers 10, 11, 24A, 24M, 31 and 56A serve the park.
